I cant find any local sources that back that report up. But if he wasnt even running last week, how would he be ready in 8 days to play a prominent role in an NFL game?It is unlikely that Ravens running back Willis McGahee will play in Week 1 due to his knee injury, and he is still walking with a limp, according to Sporting News Today. Our View: McGahee had arthroscopic knee surgery early in camp, and has been missing in action ever since. Yet another reminder that handcuffing Ray Rice to McGahee is important in fantasy drafts. Only thing I found on the web about him

Over Thomas Jones, for example. With a lousy second RB I bought a few 'lottery ticket' types. Rice, Perry, and Ricky Williams. If we hear that McGahee is out I plan to go with Rice. Otherwise, I dont know what to do. Not to bore you with my roster, but this is an example of the type of team that Rice could impact. If Rice starts vs Cincy who do you start him over? Most people should have a 1-2 punch at rb better than that no?
Don't overlook those of us who play a flex. Sure, 1 and 2 rb's are likely covered, but how many in a 12 team league actually have 3 viable starters to kick off the season. I haven't made up my mind yet, but he is in consideration for me as the flex. Like the matchup to run against.Over Thomas Jones, for example. I was looking to grab him with my pick in the 9th - and he went at the 9.01.I picked him up @ 12.05 hoping that McGahee is out a bit.
Happily starting Rice week 1 over Perry, Stewart, CJ3 & Fred. Also happily starting the Bengals Dknowledge dropper said:I heard a Ravens beat guy on NFL Sirius Radio yesterday (obviously no link) say Flacco and Rice were starting week one. The feel was Boller could be out for most of the season and Troy Smith is in bad shape. The quote was he lost around 13 pounds when he got sick. The Ravens also have concerns on the OL with injuries.Ravens O vs. Bengals D should be a battle of ineptitude for the ages.
I don't know that I could ever happily start the Bengals D.Happily starting Rice week 1 over Perry, Stewart, CJ3 & Fred. See the week 1 defense sleeper topic for my reply to that. I also said I'm happily starting Rice against that sieve, but there is tons of potential for t/o's & a low score.I don't know that I could ever happily start the Bengals D.Happily starting Rice week 1 over Perry, Stewart, CJ3 & Fred. Just read this on the Ravens website, thought I would share:"The Ravens have 2 players on Injured Reserve: TEs Quinn Sypniewski (knee) and Scott Kuhn (knee). Tackles Adam Terry (ankle) and Jared Gaither (ankle) are likely to miss the next week of practice. DT Haloti Ngata (knee) and S Ed Reed are currently limited, as are TE Daniel Wilcox (foot) and WR Demetrius Williams (ankle). After Tuesday's morning practice, head coach John Harbaugh told the media that CB Samari Rolle would not suit up vs. New England as he will need a few days to practice after rejoining the team on Monday. Harbaugh also revealed that RB Willis McGahee needs to rest a sore knee and will not play in the game either."a_rackowski said:Here is the thread I was looking for. I dont have any doubt that Ray Rice will start week 1, but what I want to know is will Willis play?
