Is the flex setting the new standard for fantasy? (1 Viewer)

I am in 3 different money leagues. All three are different.

1-qb

2-rb

2-wr

1-te

1-k

1-def

1-spt

1-qb

2-rb

2-wr

1-flex

1-te

1-k

1-def

1-qb

3-rb

3-wr

1-te

1-k

1- def

All three are ppr leagues. (although the one with the flex player only gives 2 points per every 5 receptions)

in 1 $ league (since 1994) & i love it. 10 team, total points.

1 QB

2 RB

3 WR

1 TE

1 K

1 D/ST

.... 30 man roster, no waiver wire.

all my online leagues have at least 1 flex spot & daily waiver wire claims - which i think just helps makes it easier .... but what do i know.

to each his own .... that & IMO, its hard to make fantasy football not fun no matter what.

No waiver wire takes A LOT of fun out of fantasy football. Every year I pride myself on snagging up the breakout players from the waiver wire.

OT but I completely agree with WiDDoW... WW adds a ton to the game. limit or elimiate the WW and I'd find something else to do.

to each his own .... myself & 9 others have been enjoying our league for 17 years now.i take pride in drafting the breakout players in rounds 17-30 .... also forces owners to carry 2 D/ST & 2 kickers & more than 2 QB's. also, no waiver wire means you actually have to trade with other owners to improve instead of hitting the ww.(plan for the season on draft day)..... back to the topic - in most leagues i play with flex spots, but prefer leagues without.

Putting the issue of drafting for flex aside, owners can put a more competitive team up during the tough bye weeks. Not to mention injuries and poor performance.

That alone makes it all worth it. Nothing worse than playing a team at full strength early due to scheduling then watching your main rival/s play that same team in a crippled state later. Flex makes them still somewhat dangerous.

And I know that the tables could be turned but I'll take my chances overall. thumbup.
