Is there a tentative TV schedule out for the WC games yet? (1 Viewer)

not set yet . . .

Simmons had a great podcast last week listing the possibilities - they said that NBC gets the first and last pick . . .

both NBC games are on Saturday (one AFC and one NFC) . . .

they would porbably pick the Philly at Green Bay game for the saturday night game, leaving them with the Jets at KC game saturday afternoon,

that would leave the NFC worst home game for Fox on Sunday, and Baltimore Indy game for CBS on Sunday . . .

of course the matchups arent set, but there is an educated guess . . .

thanks!

I assume you know start times for games in the past have been:

Sat 3-4pm Wildcard #1 (NBC)

Sat 6:30-8pm Wildcard #2 (NBC)

Sun 12:30-1pm Wildcard #3 (FOX or CBS)

Sun 4:00-4:30pm Wildcard #4 (FOX or CBS)

I believe this is correct from last year.

thanks - and if Seattle wins, that game would abviously be the late game on Sunday . . .

I have Chiefs tickets and am anxiously awaiting finding out when we'll be hosting the (likely) Jets.

I'm assuming the same as above, that NBC definitely picks Eagles/Packers for the Sat Night, and I assume CBS would rather have Indy than KC, so they pick that for Sunday, which makes the Chiefs early on Saturday.

The Saints are a ratings monster. No idea why, but every time they are nationally televised they break records.

I can't stand Vick, but I would almost bet my life savings (3.99) that they pick that game for ratings . . .

Don't, Saints = ratings.

But the Rams/Seahawks aren't. The Saints crush them. Not an intriguing matchup.

Yeah, there's no way that New Orleans @ St. Louis or Seattle can compare ratings-wise to Green Bay @ Philadelphia or NY Giants @ Philadelphia. If somehow the Packers and Giants lose and the Bucs get in the playoffs, then NBC might be tempted to go with Baltimore @ Indianapolis instead. But if I were a gambling man I'd go with what everyone else has said - NBC gets NY Jets @ Kansas City early, NFC Wild Card team @ Philadelphia late.

oh christ, the Chiefs just crapped the bed. If Colts win it'll be NY Jets @ Indianapolis and Baltimore @ Kansas City. Still expecting NBC to go with the premier NFC game.

looks like the Chiefs will be the #4 seed, so now it's looking like Ravens - Chiefs on Saturday afternoon and Jets-Colts on Sunday . . .

Okay so now things are clearer.

#6 Jets at #3 Indy

#5 Ravens at #4 Chiefs

#6 Packers at #3 Eagles

#5 Saints at #4 Rams or Seasquawks

So going by the above if NBC has the first and last picks, who do you think they should take?

Obviously the two #6 vs #3 matchup would appear to be the more desirable ones. So going backwards, which of the #5 vs #4 is the least desirable and will that possibly inform their choice of teams?

Which combo is more attractive:

Jets/Indy and Saints/Rams are Squawks?

or

Packers/Eagles and Ravens/Chiefs?

It would seem the former has 2 stars in Manning and Brees plus the NYC market. But they would get St Louis or Seattle two weeks in a row and it figures to be the most likely rout of the match-ups.

The latter has Vick though and probably the most attractive overall game given the likely broader appeal of the Packers. While Ravens/Chiefs is an intriguing game, they aren't the biggest markets or have the most marquee names.

Whatcha think?

Well, guess we're all wrong. I'm assuming FOX got to pick first after all.

Saturday January 8th

New Orleans @ NFC West Winner is Early (likely 4:30 Eastern)

New York Jets @ Indianapolis is Late (likely 8:00 Eastern)

Sunday January 9th

Baltimore @ Kansas City is Early 1:00 Eastern

Green Bay @ Philadelphia is Late 4:30 Eastern

That could have been NBC's choice. You get Manning and NYC in primetime. You get Brees and a generally liked SB champ as well in the first game.-QG

This was NBC's well-thought out plan because you'd rather have the #2 NFC game with Saints than #2 AFC with Chiefs/Ravens. Gave them the better early game.

so much for educated guesses . . . I guess Manning and NY trumped Vick . . .very surprised . . .

Very surprising to see Atlanta get the prime time game in round two especially considering that Chi/Pitt/NE all bring in big time ratings.
I assume you mean the championship round - the divisional round times have yet tobe decided . . .
From the post above mine...Saturday, January 15

AFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Indianapolis or Kansas City or Baltimore at Pittsburgh (CBS-TV)

NFC: 8:00 PM (ET) St. Louis/Seattle or New Orleans or Green Bay at Atlanta (FOX-TV)

Sunday, January 16

NFC: 1:00 PM (ET) Philadelphia or St. Louis/Seattle or New Orleans at Chicago (FOX-TV)

AFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Kansas City or Baltimore or New York Jets at New England (CBS-TV)
