Is there even a ww RB to grab? (1 Viewer)

in a 12 team league spiller, alfred morris etc are most likely gone from the draft. there are a couple of good WR options out there but who are the RB options? and no ,mcluster isn't a rb option in cbs.

Moreno is a lottery ticket. I think eventually he builds into a decent amount of receptions - similar to Addai)

RB pool is really shallow this year. If you were not wise to draft some good RB's and some good RB sleepers, you are going to need to get really creative in your trading. WW not going to be as much help as it has been in the past.

i doubt spiller is available

morris may be available in some leagues but its tough relying on redskin runners.. switches almost every week in years past

I grabbed Moreno in the last round of the draft. McGahee is getting up there in age and although Moreno wasn't used much other than goal line carries he put up 2 TDs. If he can get 50 rush, 20 receiving and some TDs he could become a respectable flex option later in the year, especially in PPR (if Manning starts to use him as a dump off option).

Generally speaking, WW RBs obviously arise from proven guys getting hurt with no valued handcuff behind him. As Fred Jackson was the only getting hurt, and everyone knows about Spiller, it's slim pickings this week.

Maybe next week...

(KFFL) Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis had just seven carries for 16 yards in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons, and he added three catches for eight yards. Hillis had just one more touch than RB Shaun Draughn, a preseason sensation. Draughn managed six carries for 29 yards and a score, while added two catches for 12 yards

Javon Ringer. Trust me.
lol. Did you even see Sunday's Titans game? Or Tennessee's last season? That line doesn't lend itself to ANY RB running behind it and putting up serviceable stats on the ground, at least not very often.

Is he anything more than Charles's handcuff or is there really something there?

Wait for injury reports, someone(s) will emerge, they always do.
that's right. If Tashard Choice or Lamar Miller go for 12-88-1 next week, we'll all be talking about themand I'll be stunned
imo Miller should be active for the next game (could be a nice audition) I dont believe Thomas will be able to practice (maybe do walk-tru?) Personally I believe it might still be a bit early to expect much from Miller, but time will tell.

In PPR, depending on his position eligibility (although I would prefer to grab him as a WR), look for Dexter McCluster to get enough touches to remain relevant.

I *think* most of Draughn's work was in garbage time, but as a Charles owner without Hillis as a handcuff, I may be looking to stash Draughn as a what-the-heck spot at the end of my deep roster.

Bryce Brown.

If you have McCoy then your handcuff is Lewis but Brown is a potential flyer to grab some points with a healthy McCoy

Right, they do run the ball there so why not.

At least on ESPN McCluster has Rb eligiblity. If you're league is PPR I would definitely add him as he could be a serviceable flex/bye week fill in option all season now that he is manning the slot. The fact he received 10 targets this past weekend is very encouraging.

Beyond that....I would be proactive, assuming you have room on the bench, and pick up Phillip Tanner and as someone mentioned earlier Ringer is not a bad pick up and hold on the end of your bench option either.

Tanner for obvious reasons...that Cowboys offense looks explosive and he's one Murray injury away from giving you good RB2 production. Felix Jones has literally fallen off the map at this point.

As for Ringer......and this goes back to what I said all offseason on these boards....CJ2K is done. He's a shade of his former self. He tip toes way too much now and doesn't explode through holes. That O-Line might not be the greatest but if/when Ringer does get called on I think he'll do more with less.

OTOH Lamar Miller was drafted in every single twelve team league I saw or drafted in over the last three weeks and in many fourteen teamers I discussed with others..... but maybe shallower leagues or those who drafted very early where rookie RB are not viewed favorably ...

He had 0 last night
Note the word "builds"
You can't build on top of Nothing
That's right. Week 1= 0 receptions by Denver running backs. Multiply by 16 games, that will be 0 receptions by Denver running backs this season.Manning data throwing to RBs Targets Receptions2010 78 572009 89 702008 107 782007 84 602006 96 762005 70 612004 72 602003 110 792002 97 75So if Manning stays true to form and the Broncos' offense in any way emulates the offense he played under in Indy, you can expect Denver running backs to catch between 55 and 80 balls. The point the Dude was trying to make, which was responsive to the OP's question, was that someone in Denver is going to catch those balls and score those ppr points. It may not be Moreno, although that's the Dude's prediction; it could be Hillman or it could be Lance Ball. McGahee will likely only catch a small percentage of those passes, meaning there is ppr value in the Denver backfield that is probably unrostered.

I grabbed Alex Green RM GB last week. Benson got ALL the touches, but didn't do much.
Apparently Green didn't see the field despite being active yesterday. Interested in seeing if they diversify RB touches next week vs. Chi.
I have read that Cobb actually filled the roll as 3rd down back. If that's the case Green only plays if Benson gets hurts or fails. Whick could happen, just passing along the info.

Thanks Papa....good info

I hope you aren't scouring for a ww RB unless you are a Fred Jackson owner. Loading up on RB was key for this year.

Happen to see Ringer last year? He's not much better than CJ in that Tennessee system. Ringer is a weak handcuff at best to CJ. If anything Harper could be the better play if CJ goes down due to injury. The heart of the problem is the O line play and uncreative and predictable playcalling by Palmer and Munchak. No RB would succeeed in that system.Blame that on Titans management.

How'd that work out for them? Besides, I think this was more just a formation wrinkle than using Cobb as the third down back. Benson looked dreadful and not just because of the niners D. Either Starks or Green are decent WW flyers at this point. Better to get in on them before some news or game announces them. I just don't see Benson as the answer for this team.

Cobb did lineup in the backfield for a few plays, but that was more of a designed package. Sometimes he would start out wide, then get motioned into the backfield or vice-versa. Cobb looked good coming out of the backfield, but didnt have a single carry.

Cobb ran 19 of approximately 60 snaps from the backfield. That's more than a few plays.

Perhaps Run DMC will go down tonight and everyone will be scrambling for Taiwan Jones/Mike Goodson.
I had a dream that Goodson ran for 100 yards and 2 TD's next week. Take that with a grain of salt though since I was watching the game while Kate Upton did a naked dougie in my living room.

Daryl Richardson - SJax's wheels have to fall off sometime this year. Sounds like he may have also passed Pead on the depth chart.

I actually took Miller in the 2nd rnd (ahead of Pead) But two things 1) Pead was dropped in my League 2) Does anyone believe Shaun Draughn's role will expand? or Should Draughn, and/or Pead be rostered in a 12 team League?p.s. D. Thomas is supposed to be back this wk (chance Miller isnt even active imo) I still like to believe Miller is the best RB, but I drafted him for next Season..

I'm in a 10 team league and, as a Charles owner, immediately got Draughn this week once I heard that JC's knee is balky. If one of JC or Hillis goes down, I think Draughn will get a meaningful number of carries. And it may not even take an injury - it's not like either Charles or Hillis is lighting it up so far.

I tell ya, Id have Draughn rostered right now myself, if I had played Kuechly (I would have been able to drop Timmons) Thanx for your thoughts though (I might figure something out, maybe drop Verren) I really just wanted to make sure that I wasnt the only one liking the ex thunder & Lightning RB p.s I must say Im still not sold on starting Kuechly until mid-Season (Im kinda figurin Timmons can get things together too)

I'm thinking Peade isn't going to amount to much more than a COP RB for Richardson and a special teams player. Even in dynasty I'm not sure there's anything there right now.
