Is Tiki still a must start ? (1 Viewer)

Going into the playoff, I may finally decide to start someone else rather than Tiki like C Houston.

We see a lot of Jacobs lately and add the fact that he doesn't get any GL situation, his production is going down every week.

So what can we expect on Tiki going into the playoff ??

Dump the bum to waivers!(Actually, I have started him at RB2 every week & have no intentions of benching him. :football: )

there's a chance he may sit with his broken thumb. keep an eye on it. if he sits, jacobs will go bananas.
He's been playing with a broken thumb the last couple weeks. I doubt he will end his career sitting on the bench. He will play through the pain, as he has been doing.

i know it, but he's also very affected by it. he may sit a game to let it heal a bit. i'd keep an eye on it, but i agree, him sitting is unlikely. he may not perform as expected though.

I am in the same situation and my other options other than Tiki are Houston, Henry and Lundy. I know that as soon as I play one of the others and bench Barber, he will have his best game of the year.

I really think a decision to start Tiki has to be informed by the other backs on your squad and your current situation. If you have two viable options to start in front of Tiki, do it. As an example, I'll reference my squad featuring Tiki, SJax, and MBIII. Given that Marion has outscored Tiki for the past three weeks (and actually I have to go back and total the last eight weeks to get to a point where Tiki is better over a recent stretch) and that my Week 14 contest is essentially meaningless, I'm going to give MBIII the nod. Based on how Week 14's results integrate themselves into the current picture with both Barbers, I might even be tempted to bench him during the playoffs.

So, to sum up....Tiki is probably still starter-worthy on most teams, unless you have two options that look better than him on a week-to-week basis.

I have a hard time imagining Tiki having a better game than either Week 6 (26-185/3-42) or Week 9 (17-115-1/3-40) left in him. Don't start him just because you're afraid to miss out on his money game.

Mini-Bump.

Sunday is Tiki's last home game of his career.

I don't think they'll pull him at the goal line this week, the coach will want to get him his scores and let him hear the crowd one last time. Less from Jacobs this week, more from Tiki.

 I hadn't considered that angle, but it makes sense to me. I think Tiki is a start-with-confidence guy for most leagues' FF Championship (I know he is for me).

The Saints DST has only allowed 7 total TDs (6 rush, 1 pass) from RBs all year. The RBs the Saints have faced haven't exactly been monsters, so I'd start Tiki with confidence and hope for a performance betwee FWP in week 10 (~200 yards, 2 TDs) and Rudi in week 11 (~110 yards, 0 TDs).

Opposing RBs for NO Saints:

Droughns

Ahman

Dunn

Foster

Caddy

Westy

Jamal

Caddy

Parker (2 TDs for him)

Rudi

Dunn

Gore

JuJones

Betts
