Is Tim Hightower the best RB pickup of the week? (1 Viewer)

With the top running backs going down in Arizona and GB this week it leaves both situations a cloudy mess. The Pack have to choose between Starks and Green who both are subpar at blocking and don't seem to have the confidence of the coaching staff which is evident by the fact they signed Benson. The Cardinals are left with Powell or Howlings both of which seem unlikely to be able to carry the feature role in the longrun.

Jason LaCanfora tweeted yesterday that Tim Hightower is about 2 weeks from being recovered from a recent knee scope. Obviously, he has a history in Arizona and knows the system so he could immediately jump in there when healthy. However, it would also seem he would be a good fit in Green Bay because he is a good blocker and recevier. If he truly is 2 weeks from being healthy it would seem to me he would have a big chance to become the feature back with either team. For fantasy purposes the GB situation would probably make him more valuable but either way he might be worth a flier if you can hold him.

I don't think he'll be unemployed for long he is easily the best Free Agent RB on the Market.

I thought I read somewhere that he did not pass a physical recently. Anyone know his injury status at this point?

Yeah he had to have a knee scope recently. As I stated Jason La Canfora reported yesterday that Hightower is about 2 weeks away from being recovered.

Yes, he has the best potential when healthy. I'm wary of how healthy he is though because of how the Redskins cut him and then chose to pick up Grant 2 weeks ago instead of him. My guess is that they know something us regular folks don't.

I don't know about that. I think they just thought Grant was a better option when they signed him because Hightower just had a knee scope. Knee scopes usually don't keep RB's out for more than 4 weeks though. I'm sure Jason LaCanfora talked to Hightower or his people before he reported. The Pack and Cardinals are probably both a bit leery about signing him right now though because they can't work him out but they do have each other to worry about so perhaps one of them will take a leap of faith.

Being cleared to play and being ready to play are two different things. I just doubt he makes any sort impact this year. At least not to point of holding him for a month until he sees the field.

I don't think NFL teams are as eager to sign him as fantasy owners are. Dude has had some major fumbling issues in the past.

I think the best option out there is a late round draft pick for Kevin Smith. I can't imagine that he'd cost more than a 7th rounder.

Interesting. I think in deep leagues he's worth a look. Especially with RB so thin.

In 10-12 team leagues I wouldn't bother unless you had the space to stash him, or large rosters.

I could see GB signing him, especially with Saine out for the year. By GB is picky because they run the zone blocking

Pittsburgh is an option as well

Arizona may with so many uncertainties at RB and Hightower knows the system somewhat
