It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (1 Viewer)

Dee: When you do good in virtual life it is kind of like you're doing good in real life

Charlie: I would like to make fun of you for saying that....but I kind of get what you mean.
:lmao:  Gotta go back and watch the whole thing again, was falling asleep trying to keep awake.

Pretty sure I had the same "dream" Dennis did

That was a hilarious episode... pretty much everyone killed it.

Nice satire on the state of modern life of "real" vs. "virtual" experiences.

I thought that was the best episode of the new season.
same here.when Frank was eating those peaches on the web cam I lost it. :lmao:
:lmao: You're not alone. And my wife, who let's just say is not a fan of this show, could not hold back laughs a number of times last night.
My wife is the same way. She won't admit she likes it, will not watch first-run episodes with me, but yet, I hear her laughing at it all the time and she'll record repeats on the DVR if she can't sleep, watch them, then try to delete them before I see she's doing it.

:goodposting:The fact that Mac's was a huge muscleman that tried to fight everyone was hilarious, as well.
I almost pissed my pants laughing when Mac yelled "I'M GONNA FIGHT!" and then 'SoccerMom1' shot him in the head immediately Last season was so bad I was getting worried about this show but this season has been one of the best ever

Why am I listening to the soiled fool ?

Phenomenal episode!

- "Pay tribute"

- I don't want to sit on a pile of matches

- Spanish music blaring in the Italian restaurant's kitchen

- Mac's glance and the George Washington in the waiter's pants

And, of course...

"I licked her a**hole a little bit."

:lmao:

What a season....shows usually peak early, seasons 1/2/3, this show keeps getting better

I can't believe I found myself watching this show over football last night.

Whats up with only 10 episodes this year? i was shocked when I saw that next week is the season finale. Season 1 & 2 had 7 & 10 episodes but every other season had 12+. Really bummed out.

Yeah, but at least they have been mostly quality episodes. Nice comeback season.

I wonder what they do the rest of the year? Charlie is the only one I ever see in other stuff.
I was surprised they had a short season as well.Since they own the show I'm guessing they are making fantastic money from it... but it's true that Charlie is the one i see in movies, on SNL, etc... but Mac and Dennis i've basically never seen anywhere else.I suppose sweet dee was on curb, and mac did a couple episodes of Lost, but that's still not much.Dennis does a lot of voice acting and writes that animated "unsupervised" show on FX (which is crap).Dee is getting a few spots in films now.. and i've seen her on some lame sneaker commercials

I also appreciated the two of them, independant of the other, wanting to bow towards the other table.

Charlie: Okay, I'll throw hot soup in their faces.

Frank: And I'll pinch their ##### with this lobster.

:lmao:

ETA: damn... beat by a min!!!... best line of an amazing ep.

ETA2: how come ACP can say ##### and I cant?!?

loved how the episode started and Dennis makes a remark like, if you do well in this, I'll blow myself...

Dee also had a little run on another FX show a few years back called The Riches.Dennis has had a couple movie spots that I've seen. One was that Will Ferrell movie where he's living on his lawn (Everything Must Go). Can't remember the other one.I know that Charlie, Dennis and Mac were working on another show set in outer space, but can't remember what it was.No clue what Mac does. Maybe has the best deal of them all financially, since he's officially the creator, I believe. He is a part investor in an actual bar in Philadelphia, called Mac's Tavern, which opened about 2 years ago, I think. You wouldn't have any idea that it had anything to do with Always Sunny, though. Just seems like a regular place. Pretty good draft list.

EG season 5 got bumped down
S5 still my favorite, but this season has been up there with 3,4, and 7. The Maureen Ponderosa Wedding Massacre being among the all-time weakest episodes hurts this season's overall score. What's sad is that viewership continues to decline for this show - under 1,000,000 viewers for a couple of episodes this season. I don't know that it gets renewed beyond season 9, which is horrible considering these mindless shows like American Idol draw 20 times the viewership. This country is full of dopes.

Its funny how people's tastes differ. I think the wedding episode is right up with the The Gang gets Analyzed as this season's best episode. I keep flip flopping on which one I enjoy more. I'll say this - both are in my top 10 favorite episodes of the entire series.I do agree about the country being full of dopes. Sunny has never even been nominated for an Emmy for Best Comedy series throughout its run.

What was the ceiling of viewership for the show?I mean is a million good or bad?network, censored television that families can watch with their children is always going to do much much better than a show on a more obscure network that's fairly vulgar.not to mention i think there's a decent portion of the population that simply don't get the humor.

They either just opened a second location, or just announced that they are opening a second location in Philly.

Very true. Don't get me wrong, I even enjoy the episodes I deem inferior, my ratings are always relative to other Sunny episodes. Compared to most of the other dreck on TV, even the "misses" are sensational. I loved the "Charlie's Mom Has Cancer" episode and that seems to be among the least popular overall on this board from S8. To each his own.

If Wikipedia is accurate, they've been charting viewership since season 5. It seems the season premieres typically draw around 2.2 million, then there's a drop. While S5 was drawing 1.5-2.0 million per episode after the premiere, S6 was more in the 1.2-1.6M range, S7 picked up a bit to more in the 1.5-1.7M range, and this season has fallen off to around 900k-1.1M per episode, including the premiere. If they're right about that, that's a significant fall-off and I can't really see why it would have happened.

Yeah, hard to know why that would happen. I suppose that people just burn out on shows over time? Also, as a point of reference, the 20th-rated cable show last week had 3.6 million viewers, so a million viewers is not great. Though of course there are all the different demos and IASIP has tons of merchandise, so assuming that FX gets a piece of that, it may still be profitable to them to continue.
