Saints placed RB Chris Ivory on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season.

Scratch him off your playoff league cheat sheets and upgrade Pierre Thomas. The Saints never updated Ivory's condition after he was spotted on crutches Sunday night, but it's obviously a long-term injury. Ivory's loss is a considerable one for New Orleans. The rookie had given the offense its first legitimate between-the-tackles chain mover since Deuce McAllister's prime. With Thomas (ankle) and Marques Colston (knee scope) also banged up, the Saints have serious injury concerns heading into the playoffs.

This stinks for keeper/dynasty purposes as well.

Looks like Ivory had carved out a meaningful role for the future with PT's contract up, but I doubt the team will trust his durability.

It's all falling into place for the 'Hawks to be the first 7-9 team to get crushed by the Steelers in the SB.

That sucks. Ivory was a great human-interest story for the NFL and it's a shame that most fans won't get to hear about the amazing path he took to get to big time.
