Jack Nicklaus makes Johnny Miller's 100+ foot putt (2010) (1 Viewer)

I hope this isn't a honda, but...

Here is an old video of Jack Nicklaus owning Johnny Miller on this 100-foot putt

I'm not exactly sure why this video of the opening round of the The Golf Club at Harbor Shores from 2010 surfaced now, but I sure am glad it did.

Jack Nicklaus, a man that made himself famous for pulling off clutch golf shots, was playing with Johnny Miller, a man known for his U.S. Open heroics and his pointed comments from the NBC broadcasting booth, when Miller started to question his incredibly long lag putt.

Miller had a 102-foot putt and said to the 18-time major winner, "there's no chance putting it," which triggered the Golden Bear to walk over with his own golf ball and basically show him how to do it.

The best part is, Nicklaus didn't read the putt, he didn't take a practice stroke, or even really look at the hole as he made an "all in one" move when he dropped his ball, took his putter well back and slapped at the golf ball.

The rest is absurd, with Nicklaus' golf ball curling and rolling and eventually hitting the back of the cup and dropping for a 100-foot make and a video that I hope nobody ever takes off the Internet.

I think I can honestly say this is one of the first times in the history of golf that Johnny Miller was left speechless by a golf shot.

Jack, you're still the man.

Just awesome...90% of the people on this board could spend all day attempting that shot and never make it. The nonchalance of that was perfect.

Agreed he'd prob not make it again in 5 tries, but brilliant that it dropped that once.

Incredible. Generally it feels like we overthink putting today every time I watch clips of Nicklaus, Watson, Trevino, Player, etc.

I think there's truth to that. They say our eyes are very good at sizing up the put in an instant, but we tend to screw it up with over-thinking.

grip it and rip it

Icon ...5 tries?

This is going to be some stupid, fake viral thing, like Longoria's bare hand catch video, right?

BTW...the same event is coming up this weekend. I've got two passes good for any day...PM if you are in the Chicago area and interested.

I should also point out, Johnny Miller is one of the biggest a holes on Earth.
Doesn't mean he can't play golf.

He wasn't the greatest putter ever, but anyone who can win two US Opens can't be that bad.
I'm not saying he wasn't a good golfer. I'm just saying he's a POS.
Why?
He calls it as he sees it, and he doesn't kiss butt all the time. I disagree with him quite a bit, but it's better than the bland funeral tones of some who act as if they are the keepers of the flame in the temple.

Better than most...

First time the video surfaced on the net maybe, but they showed it on TV several times after it happened.

sho nuff is right. PAC 10.
Are you guys high?
