Jacoby Jones or Mike Walker! (1 Viewer)

I'd just like to know how they compare because I thought the Texans should have gone with Walker but I've seen Jones get alot of love on this board.

Does Jones play faster than he times?

Is Walker actually faster than he timed? (only one year removed from ACL Tear)

So whose better? and Why?

TIA

Flip a coin. Jones has the better QB and may start by default. Walker is probably better but behind Williams, Jones and Wilford. He should pass Wilford out of the gate and Jones when he gets hurt. Then again, by that time Garrabage will be the QB, as Leftwich will also be hurt, and he will post 0 catches weekly.

And yes, they should have gone with Walker over Jones. Better hands.

Oh yeah. Check out Jones' hands. They are tiny at 7.5". Walker 9.5".

I was really looking for pre draft comparisons. Thanks for that little note about the hands, that seems to make a big difference right?

:lmao: If this is accurate, it already doesn't look good for Jones.

Jones is in the better situation, but like you said, it may not take long for Walker to get playing time with Matt Jones's injury issues and the inconsistent WR play.

IMO walker seems the better talent. I think alot of the buzz about jones is that john murphy who was the first "expert" to start raving about colston long before anyone else did is now talking up jacoby jones. That's not to say jones isn't a talented wr just that I don't think he'd recieve the attention he's getting if it wasn't for murphy's praise.

 Does the ball go up in size fom college to the pro's? Jones caught 200 passes in college, he'll be fine.

Troy Williamson's hands are 9 & 3/8"s. Doesn't seem to help him much.
okay just wondering.BTW Buckna did you like to would you have prefered Jones over Walker?
I don't know enough about either guy to really give much of an opinion. To be honest, I was surprised to see so many WR's off the board by our pick in the 3rd. I thought there would be a lot better choices remaining there.

If his arms had huge buckets on the ends of them, he would still drop the ball. He never could catch. Hand size isn't the #1 factor but I am pointing out that Jones has very small hands. He does drop a good number of easy catches as does Bowe and his huge hands. Walker has better ball skills.

Of the guys that were available at Houston's spot, I was a fan of Jason Hill over either of the other two. Highly productive player in the Pac-10 and the combine he showed more raw athletic ability than expected. he would have been my choice but I have seen play like 3X the amount of the other tow combined

Jones- Except for whatever post season game he was at and combine highlights, I have not seen him play. I don't have enough to go on except for repeating what is generally know through reading sites.

Walker- I did see a couple of times and thought he was good, but he did not make my jaw drop. He was recovering from injury this year though. Still really not enough for me to give an informed opinion of my own.

I did an unscientific look at several sites, and these three guys were ranked pretty close with the order being Hill, Jones, and Walker. The only consistent thing was that Walker was ranked the lowest. I think this one is a matter of a personal (or team) preference.

Jones has exceptionally long arms that negate his exceptionally small hands. I'm pretty high on him and with the ultimatum given to Mathis I see him securing the number three spot by years end and possibly number 2.

Jones has less competition so better opportunity right now. Camp usually changes things but standing in Jones' way is Andre "what happenned to him" Davis, and a project to make Mathis into a WR.

Walker's gotta beat out 3 underproducing but very talented WRs.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

I have Walker in 2 leagues, and I was torn between

these two in a 12 team rookie draft that is in progress right now.

I took Jacoby Jones at 3.03 and Walker went next at 3.04.

More than a year later, how do these two match up? Will either ever be super elite? How long do you wait on guys like this in dynasty?
Funny, you and I bumped year old threads at almost the same time.At this moment I have to give the edge to Walker, but it could change at any time. Walker is healthy for the first time in two years, I think he's got a shot at making some noise in JAX. As far as Jacoby is concerned, dude has all the physical tools,I just haven't seen enough of him to make a determination..
