Jags 4-3 or 3-4 Defense? Austen Lane DE Thoughts (1 Viewer)

I am intrigued by Jacksonville DE Austen Lane. With Kampman as a starter on one side & Harvey struggling, Lane and Hart will be slated to compete for the other DE job. I think Lane looks like a potential stud in the making. Anyone have any insight into the battle and or how camp/pre-season went?

I had also read the Jags were running a hybrid/mix of the 4-3 and 3-4. If anyone can clarify the approx. ratio between the two, that would be helpful (i.e. 60% 4-3, 40% 3-4). And if I am incorrect, please correct me. Thanks

I don't see Austen Lane having much impact this season. Harvey is never going to be a sack artist, but he'll provide some solid play.The Jags will be running a 4-3. They tried the mix last year and it didn't go well, at all.

I agree, Harvey is a solid NFL DE. He just isn't the pass-rusher the Jags were hoping they drafted with the 8th pick.
