Jaguars HC Jack Del Rio Fired (1 Viewer)

Not sure if honda....

Per Twitter:@MortReport - Jack Del Rio has been fired as head coach of the #Jaguars... more on ESPN shortly
It's about time, one of the worst and most boring offensive minded coaches ever. Congratulations Jags fans, maybe you will get someone in there to actually make the team better.

well, you gotta question the wisdom of anyone who drops the starting QB at the start of the season.

this was done not once, but twice.

even if you're not thrilled with the starter, there is a certain amount of succession planning that needs to come into play.

Boy does this seem after the fact.

I liked the Jeff Fisher to Jax and to Cincy rumors a while back. I still think some team needs to sign him now, before it's a sweepstakes. Get him under wraps and let the franchise have a clear direction in the offseason too.

Seems odd but why not sign Garrard on a future contract now too? Teams are about to sign camp arms and developmental players anyway. I don't know his "makeup" but he sure seems like a fine veteran backup to me.

GM and JDR had such an odd way of interesting me, then frustrating me with "what's he thinking?" type moves, cuts, etc. It seemed like other fans felt the same way.

They were similar to the Lions, no? With three top draft pick WRs busting?

I remember them needing an interior of their O-line so they drafted two very good tackles. huh?

Umm how come JDR couldn't "smell" great talented LBers? Maybe that threw me most of all about his tenure. I expected eons better LBs in Jax once he became coach. He was one tough sonofagun as a player and ...this threw me.

Wadsworth, thanks

well IDK if he should be fired or not.

They've whiffed on some big names and ignored glaring needs at times

Bad coaching. In his post game interviews he'd deflect the blame on koetter several times. "you have to ask the offensive coordinator" is how del rio would respond, when plays would not work. Sorry Jack, that blame comes with the title of head coach.

Loved him as a player, but not hc material.
