Wk 2: 3 TDs, 9 rec, 46 pts

:P

If we were drafting tomorrow from scratch, how high would he go? I think first round goes without saying. Top 5? Top 3?

Best could not have looked better today. I did not see him make a mistake or leave yards on the field all game. Money.

Best looked lightning fast today. His patience and jukes in space were impressive but his burst was just ridiculous. CJ4.24 has some competition as the top back so far this year from this rookie.

He is exactly what I thought he'd be. An unbelievably dynamite player, whose only concern is his longevity.

That being said, every RB in the league can get injured at any time, so maybe that concern isn't relevant. We'll see.

Best looked fantastic today, but I'll disagree here. He goes down on first contact a LOT. He had two or three times where a weak shoestring tackle took him down when he had a clear run to the endzone. It means he was pretty close to breaking a couple more LONG TD runs, but it was a tad disappointing to see him go down when a guy just ticked his foot. Obviously, you can't complain about his big output today, but I hope that he doesn't go down that easily all the time.

The real value as Best's ADP rose after his brilliant preseason game #3 was still being able to snag him at the end of the second round. His projected value hadn't hit home for enough people and some thought he was "value" in the third. But, to be able to pair him with Chris Johnson or Adrian Peterson as a #2 back is a dynamite combo to own.

Easy.... take it easy....

His numbers have looked FANTASTIC so far. But as stunning as he looked today vs the Lions he looked equaly mediocre vs the Bears (save 2 "Fluke" TD's).

He comes out next week and torches the Vikings D we can start to talk about top 3.

Late first early second maybe.. but prob not third round.
Name 5 RB's you would rather have on your team. I would pick him at 3 right now.
Chris JohnsonAdrian PetersonFrank GoreArian FosterJones-DrewHe's right after that with McCoy..but in my scoring/roster system, I think AJ and Austin and possibly even Roddy would go before him too. That would put him late first, maybe even into the second depending on what my league mates think.. he just didn't look good in game 1 to the point people benched him. He is special, but I'm not anointing a rookie after 1 great game.

How can you call those TDs fluke. They were not 1 yard plunges i.e. Clinton Portis

Chicago's defense was swarming last weekend. They were totaly selling out the run.

Ha! Drafted just before preseason and STOLE him in Rd 7 of a ten team league! I think there are a lot of stories like mine out there with this guy depending on when drafts were held.

Before pre-season drafts have more potential for steals. I would have been looking for him in the 5th, but I have been high on Best since the Lions drafted him. I picked him late 2nd in all my drafts. I knew he would be gone in the 3rd and I saw first round value.

In my main keeper league my plan was to "reach" with my 36/37 picks. My plan was Spiller since we get to keep 6 for next year. Spiller was taken at 20 something, and so i went with Best. Lucky pick!

Let's not get out the anointing oils just yet.... getting a little silly in here.

In my 12 team ppr redraft I would trade Best for: AP, MJD, Rice, Gore, Sjax, Chris Johnson, and maybe a couple more.
Yah, but who would have all those running backs on one team to put together that package?

Well that is 4, but I would take Best over Foster and Gore. I actually think Best finishes #2 in PPR leagues. He is going to catch a lot of balls.
I like him over Gore or Foster. AD CJ would be close. barring injury Best really has the tools.

Peterson, CJ, Rice, Gore, D Williams, A Foster, Mathews, S Jackson, then Best I think if drafting today. Still WAY too early on this though. Best looked bad in week 1 other than the 2 short yardage TDs. Your expectations were lowered after week 1. This week's game should even it out. We will know what we need to know come mid season.

The Lion fan in me could not pull the trigger on Best today. I suck.
This is actual smacktalk I posted to my 14 year old fantasy league today... "The nice thing about being a Browns homer, is my fantasy team rarely gets beat down by my favorite players". (I had Peterson and Shiancoe going against a Vikings fan)When you're as used to disappointment as Browns and Lions fans are, it takes a while to adjust when one of your players is doing well.

#1 fantasy RB? Nope!

As a Best owner I am pleased but even now I would not take him in the first. Maybe late first early second but even that is a reach. Only 2 games and yes he has put up some monster numbers but damn there are many proven guys on the board during these picks. Lets see where he is mid season before we talk #1 type stuff. Hell CJ had an 85 yard TD called back on a penalty today. I would gladly trade you Best for CJ right now.

Whats so crazy about people having Best ranked after AD and CJ? I cant think of anyone other than those two who are clearly ahead of him.

Sorry guys, but this is just as silly as the thread that ripped him after the first game. I own the guy, and I love him, but let's face it: he's played exactly two games in the NFL, and neither one is going to represent what he does on average. I do think in fantasy purposes, both Best and Foster deserve first tier consideration.

I'm happy to own both, but if I were forced to choose between the two newcomers, I would take Foster over Best. I was impressed by Foster's numbers today: he didn't get into the endzone, but he had a lot of yardage. Foster's on a better team, that is going to be ahead more often than not in the 4th quarter, and he's going to get a lot of yards late in the game. Best is on a terrible team that will be behind most of the time.

he's definitely at worst a late first rounder if fantasy drafts were held today. dont think hes broken into tier 1 of cj to gore yet though. he and arian foster would be drafted right next to eachother. 7-9 would be my guess of his current adp.
