Jake Delhomme bounce back year? (1 Viewer)

I am counting on Jake Delhomme to have a nice bounce back year this season. Delhomme can be had near the end of every draft, yet he has top ten potential.

Delhomme is finally healthy and has some nice weapons (S.Smith) a very easy schedule vs the pass and he has a proven track record (3,886 and 30 td's in 2004,

3,421 and 25 td's in 2005)

I look for a nice bounce for Delhomme which could equal 3,500 yds and 24 total td's.

Those numbers would be close to a top 10 finish.

Has a nice opening schedule, weeks 2-6 has Hou, Atl, TB, NO & Ariz. If he can't get it done in that stretch and keep Carr on the bench, at least it'll be easy to cut bait early.

Everyone had a great season in '04. That season saw a freakish, unpredictable surge in Quarterback production. What Delhomme did in '04 wasn't even that impressive considering how every other QB exceeded their normal career pattern.

I think 25 td's is realistic. He should start off well vs St Louis.

I wouldn't get all excited about Delhomme this season..he isn't very good, and the offense around him has slipped somewhat..I doubt they run the ball effectively, they still lack a true #2 opposite Steve Smith, and their defense has slipped a notch, which should mean that the Panthers will see fewer possessions in 2007 as opponents move the ball at will against them..Delhomme will throw approx. 22 tds, but with 18 ints..he's constantly throwing interceptions.. :fishing:

You hit the nail on the head. The guy has one of the softest pass schedules plus one of the top3 WR to throw to...should see a nice bounce back year.

As a Panther homer, I hope he bounces back. I watched every game last year and something didn't seem quite right right. Last year was reminiscent of when things didn't seem quite right with Warner when his play went bad. You couldn't lay your finger on it, but somehow you knew despite hope that he would not be the same going forward.

On the other hand, almost every good QB has a bad season. I just don't know what to expect out of him. The absence of a true #2 doesn't worry me that much. I think he did just fine the year that Kolbert was the #2.
