so he had a semi disappointing season last year but lets look at his numbers for the past few years

2004 310-3886 29TD 15INT

2005 262-3421 24TD 16INT

2006 263-2805 17TD 11INT *In 13games and Steve smith was hurt to begin the season*

now the panthers actually have the 3rd best passing schedule in the league along with a fully healthy steve smith and delhomme isnt suffering from a thumb injury nor do they have the problems of injuries with their O-line. and from the looks of things he has dropped quite a bit from where he was last year on the draft charts. all things concidered, is it really ridiculous to think he cant obtain 3500+ 25TD's? and maybe even more? he could end up being a very undervalued QB. heres the schedule for the season

1 Sep 09 CAR @ STL *

2 Sep 16 HOU @ CAR *

3 Sep 23 CAR @ ATL

4 Sep 30 TB @ CAR

5 Oct 07 CAR @ NO *

6 Oct 14 CAR @ ARI *

7 Bye

8 Oct 28 IND @ CAR *

9 Nov 04 CAR @ TEN *

10 Nov 11 ATL @ CAR

11 Nov 18 CAR @ GB *

12 Nov 25 NO @ CAR *

13 Dec 02 SF @ CAR *

14 Dec 09 CAR @ JAC

15 Dec 16 SEA @ CAR *

16 Dec 22 DAL @ CAR

17 Dec 30 CAR @ TB

*Great Matchups

I like your thinking, man. Delhomme is not a sexy pick right now, but I like your thinking.

Winners are often the ones with the strength and courage to cut through the sheeple. That said, I don't own a single Panther on three teams this year, so I hope you're wrong.

But again, I like your thinking and can see Delhomme break out again IF my boy Smiff goes off and the new OC brings it.

Let's not get crazy now Beavis
see i dont get comments like this... theres no reasoning. whats to make us think he wont have a bounce back year? concidering hes playing with a healthy team now? hes had 1 bad year and were ready to burn him at the fantasy football stake.

I do not see him finishing the 2007 season at or near the top QB in the NFC with the likes of D.Brees, D.McNabb, M.Bulger, J.Kitna, T.Romo, M.Leinart, M.Hassleback, B.Favre, A.Smith, J.Garcia, R.Grossman, E.Manning etc. around.

If you had said Delhomme could make the Pro Bowl instead of WILL make the Pro Bowl, I think your post would have been taken more seriously.

Delhomme is a mediocre gunslinger that constantly locks onto his one and only target in Steve Smith. If he plays a full season, he'll be neck and neck with Favre and Kitna for the league lead in INT's.

Only a couple years back the man had 30 td's. The next year he had 25 td's.He has the best wr in the NFL on his team. If he is healthy I could see a pro bowl type year.

Three years with declining yards and tds's and arguably increasing interceptions is a pretty good indicator that not all is well. Add to the fact that he lost his legitimate #2 WR again and will have to depend on either a rookie contributing immediately or someone like Keary returning to his rookie form does not add much cause for elation at his prospects.

Being a Delhomme owner, he IS being very undervalued right now but there is reason for it. I am hoping like you that he can help turn things around this year. But unlike Steel I do not equate having a WR like Smith makes it automatic when you have no other proven outlets for him.
