Wow. Single handedly ended many seasons today
My opponent is one of the not many. I'm still down 20+ in a league I went undefeated in and lead in total points. Foles, Sea DST and Bailey are a great Charles insurance plan this week.
Add in Brown for my opponent too. The hits keep coming and Charles was my only good player so far. Currently down 30 but do have Calvin left. I'll need a huge game from him.

I made the finals in two of my four leagues. Next week I have him playing in one league and I go against him in the other.

Was saying all year he was going to have a season of legend. Apparently, I was under estimating Charles with the insane 2000 total yard, 14 TD season I originally thought back in the preseason. Oh well, carry on and enjoy the ride my friends.

That was stupid.

Never will he ever have a day like that again.

According to ESPN, Jamaal Charles' 51 fantasy points in Sunday's win at Oakland were tied for the sixth-most since 1960.
Gale Sayers had 55 fantasy points in 1965 and Clinton Portis had 54 in 2003. Jim Brown (1961), Jerry Rice (1990) and Shaun Alexander (2002) are all just ahead of Charles with 52 points. Charles also became the first running back in the history of the NFL with four touchdown catches and had more receiving yards (195) than any running back since Marshall Faulk had 204 in 1999. The Chiefs officially clinched a playoff spot on the back of Charles' historic performance.

Definitely the classic jamaal Charles performance that we were waiting for.
:goodposting: been waiting all year for this...and boy was it worth waiting for.
Stop.

Been waiting all year for a 5 TD game, like it happens all the time you have grown to expect it?

Just so common, they grow on trees huh? Laughable.

From the above post you see how often it happens.

If it matters I own him in some leagues and played against him in others.

I had Alex Smith and Charles both going in the semis of one of my league and I still might lose (depends on how MNF goes). That might sound crazy, but my opponent's team went nuts, too (Demarco, Seattle D, VJax, Gordon, Romo, etc.), and Vereen, Decker, Bowe (whom I had to start thanks to Shorts being out) and Julius Thomas all had disappointing weeks for my team. Ouch.

Scored 61.5 against me, along with 40 from Foles, 30 from Garcon, 30 from SEA D, and not even counting the other 60 points. #1 Seed out.

Wow- - I thought I had it bad with Edelman(35) and DeSean Jackson(37.5)to go with the Charles same 61.5 point whipping - condolences

I was #1 in points for the year - had Gronk go out so that is a double whammy with Edelman picking up his catches - and my team is looking pretty good with Lynch and Lacy and Marshall, Green and Jordy Nelson all doing ok.

1st round bye with Charles on my roster. Hope he saved some for next week.

I own Charles in 3 of my leagues. In those leagues, I lead 313-188 (w/ Reggie still on deck - 2 week matchup), 153-59 (my opponent still has Reggie & Akers left to go) and 171.90-57.20 (my opponent still has Megatron).

Now way back in August, I drafted my big money league team last and in the #4 slot I faced the same decision I had in so many others between Charles & Spiller - and I told myself, "Dude, you're a Bills fan. You need to get Spiller in at least one of your leagues." - even though I liked Charles more. Needless to say, I went with Spiller in the league that meant the most and was decimated by the Charles owner this week. One of those rare instances where I can trace my league elimination to one error in judgment. There was nothng I could have done in setting my lineup this week to avoid defeat. Just an amazing performance out of Jamaal. I'm going to buy his jersey so I can remember my mistake going forward.

After being disappointed by Morris, Vereen, Andre Johnson, D.Thomas, and Foles' first half...Charles made me poop all over myself as i won my league's Championship. 7 turnovers and a TD from the chiefs D as well, unreal. I went into work at 4:00 pretty unhappy, happened to be working the same shift along side the guy I was matched up against.

I was Charles'd in multiple leagues today. What a beast of a FF season this guy's had. Should be the #1 pick in all PPR leagues next season.

Charles and Foles really dug me out of a hole. I'm not sure who/what I have to sacrifice to get it again next week. Barely beat my opponent who started Dez, Lacy, Stacy, and Asiata.

My other players:

Jeffery: 15.4 (saved by end of game TD)

Gordon: 14.2 (same as above)

D Thomas: 6.5

Vereen: 3.5

Brown: 4.6

Graham: 3.5

Scored 61.5 against me, along with 40 from Foles, 30 from Garcon, 30 from SEA D, and not even counting the other 60 points. #1 Seed out.
Same here

My opponent had Charles for 55, Foles for 33, Kaepernick for 22, and Amendola for 20. 130 points from 4 players. My entire team scored 97.

Many have said that a 1st round draft pick can't win you a title. I think Charles owners may disagree......Charles is going to win a lot of leagues for owners this year.

We'll see. Still have to get through this next week. Either way it's been a fun ride. He's carried 2 of my teams to the title game and at this point there's nothing I could possibly complain about. He's been consistent all year and money when it's counted.

All you guys beating your chests for having Charles should all go pound sand and leave this thread for those of us that got single-handedly P@tterned!

If it's any consolation to anybody, my JC team got spanked, even though it outscored every team in the league by a large margin except one. :bag:

If you took a moment to read the entire thread and the others about Charles, you would see that what we were discussing is the statment that we have broght up several times during the course of the year that, while Charles has been great this year, there is usually that one or two games a year where he will have a crazy big long score or two in a game and have a monster game.

So, no, we were not talking about the expectation of a 50+ point game. We were discussing a general "waiting for a big game".

Don't be simple and don't be such an ### and if you feel compelled to be an ###, at least be roght about it and do your research before you jump in and incorrectly take other people's discussions out of context.

Lost 188.22 to 188.16 to the JC team.

1 less yard (65.4pts instead of 65.5) would have sent me to the finals. Damn you JC!

2 leagues I'm in, the Charles owner is set up to lose. One (my team) went up against Foles and Jennings (combined 80 points), the other was just let down by the rest of hist roster.

Philosophy time: What's worse: Playing against Charles yesterday and losing like that or having Charles and losing despite that epic performance?

Probably having Charles and losing. Especially if it was because of Dan Bailey, a freaking K who put up like 30 points. Luckily I had Bailey riding the pine on my teams. :bag:

If you had Charles and still lost, you either ran into another hot team or you got next to nothing from the rest of your team. Scenario 1 can happen and there is nothing that you can do about it. Scenario 2 well that's all on you. For me, scenario 1 would hurt much more. If I fell victim to scenario 2, I would figure my team just wasn't good enough to win it all.

Eh, not really. In the case of my one team with Charles that lost, it was good enough to win it all, but it's just bad luck that Peyton, Decker, Cameron and Fred Jackson, all of whom had been great all year, all had average to bad weeks the same week. There is no way to predict that; it's just the way it goes sometimes.

Easy. Losing because of a once in a decade performance is much harder to swallow. If you had Charles and lost, you didn't deserve to be in the finals in the first place.

Really? It's that simple? My 12-2 team is still the total points leader by over 150 pts, averaging over 150 pts a game all year long. It wasn't worthy because it lost to a 7-7 team that averaged 110 pts all season long and somehow pulls 180 out of its butt? I guess I'm not worthy.

Jamaal charles is a total bad ### and the MVP for fantasy football... He is the best fantasy player on the planet right now, yes even better then P.manning... I remember telling you guppies about him back 6 years ago...

I may lose with a team I had JCharles on if my 17.25 and J.tucker doesn't outduel Calvin......

I am up by 30 going into tonight. We both have Ravens DB's still to play. My opponent had Charles, but he struggled to get points from other players. He was undefeated until this week.

I also had to dodge the crappy 1st half from Brees, and sub par game from Vereen.
