JAMAL LEWIS WILL BE (1 Viewer)

He looked huge.
Lewis only had 5 carries for 4 yards or better- and 3 of those were in the first drive. Granted you cant throw out big plays, but he basically had 1 big run in the 4th quarter with a 21 point lead. Im not going to play the game of throwing out his big run, but just keep an eye on that. Aside from the first series and the last series he played, Lewis was stymied. The point being Lewis doesnt catch many passes, the offense is throwing a lot more, and now he is sharing carries to some degree. His opporunities to score FPs are somewhat limited. Of course this was against a really good defense. Next week is Oakland at home. Lewis should have a field day. I actually like the way Baltimore used Lewis yesterday. That's the kind of thing they will need to do to keep him fresh. If their defense dominates, Lewis will have plenty of opportunities for big carries, but if the Ravens are well ahead they can then rest him and limit his exposure.

I am VERY pleased with Jamal`s game yesterday...all the ''experts'' had him doing nothing against TB and he ended up with respectable #`s...if the game was`nt such a blow out he would have had a 100 yrds for sure.

I see Lewis being the mirror rb of R.Johnson this year.

I have him in two leagues and started him 1 of them. Went with Chester tonight and S. Jackson in the league I didn;t start him. Needless to say him and Fred Taylor my 3rd and 4th backs sitting on bench might have cost me a win. I am up by 2 with C. Taylor and Gates left against Tomilson.

Ravens’ Lewis feeling good, but is it enough for bounce-back year?

Baltimore

Ravens RB Jamal Lewis was nagged by a hip injury throughout the summer, but the veteran ballcarrier insists he is feeling fit. Even as he was listed as questionable on the Ravens’ Week One injury report, Lewis was seen running sprints after practice. The injury apparently didn’t bother Lewis much vs. the Buccaneers, as he ran for 78 yards and a touchdown in the regular-season opener. The Ravens want nothing more than a spry and motivated Lewis in their backfield, and if he can handle the load, he will get the majority of the carries, with emerging Musa Smith the third-down back and occasional relief for Lewis. But even if Lewis feels healthy, will the Ravens give him enough running room? The way we hear it, concerns abound about the interior of the offensive line, especially ORG Keydrick Vincent, who did not have a good preseason. How C Mike Flynn fares also remains to be seen. There are fewer questions about the left side of the line, even with OLT Jonathan Ogden nearing the end of a Hall of Fame career and OLG Edwin Mulitalo out to bounce back from a down ’05 campaign.
