Jamarcus Russell = Hefty Righty? (1 Viewer)

Jun. 3 - 9:34 pm et

JaMarcus Russell reportedly looked shaky at Raiders minicamp, and still "looks out of playing shape."

Like all non-contact work, we don't take evaluations from summer practices too seriously. Still, this is a sign that Russell's conditioning is a question despite the team's glowing reviews of his svelte 269-pound frame.

He's beginning to sound like Leftwich part deux.
I haven't read anything like this from Jason Jones or Jerry MacDonald, two beat writers that both have blogs written about the first day of practices. There's some pics of Russell on Raiders.com, as well as video, and he looks in shape to me.

But hey, who needs pics, video, and coaches comments when we have quotes from ESPN.com?

C'mon now massraider,The shills at ESPN have to justify their paychecks somehow don't they?

I can just see them at their cubicles....

"Jeez it's slow this time of year. What the heck are we gonna write about today?"

"Hey I know, lets pick on that fat kid out in Oakland."

"Yeah, wasn't he kinda hefty at the combine last year?"

"Yep. Sure was."

"Ok. Lets roll with the fat kid story. You know the dumbasses...err...uh...I meant....the masses will by it hook line & sinker"

This will end badly for the Raiders. To tell you how awful this guy is going to be, I cut Curry in favor of Drew Bennett as my #6 WR and for the 1st time ever I have no Raider on my team and place them with the likes of CHI and MIA as worthless for FF.

To me it looks like rotoworlds source is the Hashmarks article on ESPN.com, which was written by Bill Williamson.

Link Here

The article barely gives any detail on how Russell looked, aside from the comment of "Russell looked shaky at times. He had some deflected passes and still looks out of playing shape." Which to me, leaves a lot to the immagination of the reader, and is hardly concrete evidence that there is a problem in the Raiders camp.

It's the beginning of June for crying out loud. We are 3 months away from the start of the NFL season and Russell is working with basically all new support players. I am not sure what Williamson was expecting to see, or what he is basing his opinion on to say that "Russell still looks out of playing shape", as I don't recall every seeing him out of playing shape.

Williamson is new to ESPN and his profile states:

"Bill Williamson joined ESPN.com in 2008 after four seasons covering the Denver Broncos for the Denver Post. He previously covered the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. "

So I feel confident in saying that he didn't cover the Raiders last season to see Russell in camp or at practice.

Further to the point of Massraider's point... if MacDonald raises an issue, I will listen.

Thanks for the tip to not put much stock in your opinions. To broadly say ANY team is worthless for FF is short sighted.2007 Fantasy Rank (in my league anyway, pretty standard non-ppr):CHI defense, 5th Robbie Gould, K, CHI, 7thBernard Berrian, WR, CHI, 29thRonnie Brown, RB, MIA, 21st (1st through 7 weeks before injury)Justin Fargas, RB, OAK, 19th (top 10 over 8 game stretch week 8-15)Frank Gore, RB, SF, 10thThe key to FF championships is finding these diamonds in the rough as they are usually had for very cheap. I will gladly draft Curry at WR50 with a potential WR25 upside.

The key is building a powerhouse and not having to worry about WR #50. :lmao: Curry has NO SHOT. ZERO ZILCH of being top 25. None. Go ahead. My 6 are better. AJ, Marshall, Calvin, Jennings, Laurent Robinson, Bennett. My D is better than Chicago: SD.My K is better than Gould: FolkBerrian has no QBBrown is hurt.Fargas is back to the pine.Frank Gore is a stud....Own him.
