James Jones Future Value (1 Viewer)

Hey all,

Just curious what others though on this. I have James Jones who I drafted in the last round. I don't play him and I held onto him because I understand he is a free agent after this season. I think he will have some value next year on another team and therefore I was planning to keep him rostered based on this expectation.

I have a chance to get Dexter McCluster though who somebody dropped last week. I won't be able to keep McCluster but I believe his value will go up over the next week or two and he would provide depth to my WR group (A Johnson, S Moss, TO, D Bryant).

Is Jones future potential worth keeping him rostered over the opportunity to get McCluster for the rest of the season? I like McClusters upside but not sure if KC will use him effectively enough.

Thoughts?

He's one of the centerpieces to the Chiefs offense - how much more effectively should he be used? Do it McCluster has more value now and a higher upside.

Well he's only had 5 touches all year on offense ( I don't get credit for Special team stats). He's talented like crazy but like I believe Charles should be used more I believe McCluster should be as well. I just don't know how much more KC will use him. I know he should be the centerpiece along with Charles though.

Where did you find your info? I am a season ticket holder and have seen every game and that shocks me. He's way more involved that that on offense. I see - he's had 5 receptions, I wonder how many targets he has. He also lines up in the backfield and works from the wildcat. Keep in mind that he's only played 3 games due to the early bye. To me it's a no brainer, but I'm admittedly a bit of a homer.

5 receptions , 78 yds 1 TD

4 rushes, 2 yards

addmitedly the majority of this came in his last game he played and I think his targets should increase. I appreciate homer advice too. haha

He's 170lbs. They're not going to give him 20 touches per game, nor should they. The 8-12 he will eventually contribute every game should prove enough with his ability to take any 1 of them to the house.

There's a lot of mouths to feed in the running and short passing game. Unless you think Mighty Mouse can beat anyone on a 30-yard fly...

jones will be #3 receiver as long as driver is there, and really hes actually the 4th target if you take finley into account. driver will be around another 3 years, and jones would be one of the worse wr2s in the league even if he got the opportunity.

mccluster definitely has more future value
