James Starks, season potentially over (2 Viewers)

McCarthy after today's practice...

*Ryan Grant looks good. He's in very good shape. It's great to have him back. Walked into the locker room and got a standing ovation.*Ryan has great history with us. He stepped right in. The offense has evolved but I don't see him having any issues.*I don't think we expect him to go out and play 60 plays, but we'll let the week's work give us information on where he is.*Expect Ryan Grant to be available Sunday.

Also said Alex Green will be "leaned on" and he had his "best game of the year last week" were also quotes from the McCarthy presser, dont want to forget those. I know you have an agenda is looks from your post, but Grant is not the guy.

He doesn't have an agenda, he's just reporting on the topic. No one truly gives a #### about this backfield, the fantasy implications are miniscule so odds of bias are pretty low as well.To be clear it's not because I have faith in Green's talent that I think he will succeed, it's because I believe in fantasy karma. So many people have #### on Green in this thread that I think it's pretty much guaranteed he puts up points this week. There's a bit more to my logic than that, but that's the crux of it.

Probly should email Aaron Rodgers also. HTH.

If you've ever paid attention to any of my posts, you'd know I would never rely on something as silly as "fantasy karma". I'm a stat fiend. Look, I'm not going to argue with you and try to prove I was joking. I'm really not sure why you put so much stock into the post or why you took it so seriously, but I'm not going to bite.

An agenda to point out that Grant may actually get some work this Sunday.Nothing more.I don't think Green...despite McCarthy stating the obvious that he will be leaned on...is "the guy" either.I don't think anyone in that backfield is "the guy" or will do much to help a fantasy team except in extreme desperation.So...not sure what your issue is with me informing people that the coach feels a guy is expected to be available to him on Sunday.

You are making a play that a RB, who was cut in favor of Green and failed to get resigned by team until Week 14, is gonna come in a get a bunch of carries... yes an agenda. Do I need to put in all caps for it to be clearer? You seem to be pointing out all the goods for Grant, but nothing the coach said about Green, it could not be more obvious you have an agenda.

You are making it seem like Grant is a better option then Green, wrong.

Green did something this past week that I hadn't seen from him. He ran downhill with abandon. I remember noticing it during the game because I thought it was Starks at first. I hope he continues to run with that urgency after watching Adrian Peterson first hand.

A bunch of carries?I never stated anything close to Grant is a better option than Green.

I stated that he would not start...that it is possible he gets 7-10 carries.

That I think Green will still get closer to 15...but IMO they want to limit him and work him as a committee as he did better that way with Starks than when he was carrying the ball 20 times.

I seem to be pointing out that people were stating Grant would not even play this weekend and that the coach expects the opposite.

You seem to have an agenda with someone posting information about Ryan Grant may be getting on the field this weekend and are nitpicking everything.

Chill out man...

If you actually have to rely on the GB backfield for your fantasy playoffs, you're in trouble.

If you actually have to rely on the GB backfield for your fantasy playoffs, you're in trouble.
Maybe, maybe not. What if you have Adrian Peterson in a PPR league and nothing else at RB? Suddenly, Alex Green looks pretty good and it's not like you need him to be a fantasy star. If you keep your expectations in check and use him primarily in PPR leagues I think Green can help fantasy teams going forward as long as he stays healthy. All depends on what you need.

It's possible, as I pointed out does have 4+ YPC in his last three games. Things change, it's possible he can contribute. The thing is, only a team already in pretty bad shape in going to ask for the services of Green this week. I can't imagine trusting anyone in this backfield for the first round of the playoffs unless I was forced to. I don't mind stashing him to see what happens but no way would I rely on him.

Trust in Green? No. But I do, at least, have hope. I picked up Green and I'm just hoping for somewhere near 80 total yds or a TD. Due to injuries, my other RBs are weak and won't be getting the 15 touches as I expect from Green. Touches = opportunity. Without the touches I don't care how good a RB is. Kendall Hunter agrees.

In theory I would agree but there's no way to know everyone's situation. It's entirely possible due to injuries, poor performance etc. that a good team could need Green this week. I'm in second place in my league and have been scrambling all season long for RB help behind Jamaal Charles. If I had gotten Green off WW this week he would've started for me. Give me a guy who can consistently get 8-10 points in PPR at the position (which Green has already proven he can do) and I'd take it.

Alex Green reclaims the feature back role with James Starks out multiple games. Keep expectations low. Green is averaging just 3.3 YPC. The Packers have gone 39 games without a 100-yard rusher, the longest streak in the NFL
