Jared Allen? (1 Viewer)

Has anyone come across any info on the contract situation with Jared Allen? Carl Peterson said that he would be working on getting a new contract for Allen b4 opening day of '08, but I havent seen anything. As a Chefs fan, I am starting to get worried that they are just that far apart on numbers considering that there has been no news on him over the past several weeks.

I know that Allen said that if he enters the '08 season and plays 1 down under the franchise tag, then he will NOT play for KC in '09!!!

I can't understand why Peterson won't pony up the $ to keep Allen in KC for a long time. I know that he didnt give him an extension prior to '07 b/c he was waiting to see how Allen responded to his 2nd DUI... but he changed in '07 and had no off-field issues.

Any thoughts???

You know as much as we do. Allen is tagged, hasn't signed his one-year tender yet, both sides have acknowledged that talks on an extension are underway but nothing has been formally announced.

that's what I heard too!! I would love it to be about Allen, but I would think that would be a Carl Peterson press conf, not just a Herm press conf.
