Jason Campbell (1 Viewer)

If Jason Campbell plays an entire season in accordance with his 7 starts he finishes with:

3000 yards, 27 TD's and 14 INT's

and

250 yards rushing

I think that is pretty good quality for a QB you can pick up very late. That would be more TD's than Bulger, Brady, Vick, Hasselbeck and only one less than Palmer.

Campbell absolutely represents value for as a QB2 for someone that drafted Brady/Brees/Palmer/Manning early or a part of a QBBC. He and Alex Smith are two of the most underrated QBs in FF right now.

Not sure about Alex Smith. He has 10 more INT's than TD's. I don't think he will ever produce good fantasy numbers.

Smith turns 23 next month. He was thrown into the fire at only 21, extremely young for an NFL QB, so I would give him a pass on his horrible firs season. last year he had 16 TD/16 INT and should only improve.

I agree with you about Smith. The 49ers are a young and becoming very tallented on both sides of the ball. I think they will challege for the NFC West division title this year. A WR in one of the first two rounds ... Maybe Sindney Rice would help Smith out a lot.I actually value Smith over Campbell.

I agree w/ you on both players and did excatly what you described; took Palmer has my #1 and passed Campbell for Smith.. so I obviously valued Smith more since not only is he younger; but has more playing time.I hope SF takes care of him gets him some talent to throw too.

Campbell has potential. A great QB to have as a backup. He should go cheap in drafts and I like his upside potential.

Campbells upside is very nice especially in dynasty leagues...people shouldnt forget who the OC is in WASHINGTON and what he did in KC

RBs KC gets the edge vs Wash but Portis/Betts arent slouches

WRs Wash gets the edge vs Kennison and others

TEs KC of course gets the edge with Gonzo but Cooley is a very cabable TE

I would look for some very good things from the washington offense in the next yr and going forward

I wouldn't hesitate taking and/or starting Campbell over Grossman, Losman, Schaub, Leftwich, Delhomme, Green, Rivers, Romo, Pennington, Hasselbeck, Eli Manning, Kitna, Favre, Roethilsberger, Culpepper.

He also lost the best OC in the game, Norv Turner. Smith took a quantum leap forward last year, yes, but new OC Hostler has never coached as an offensive coordinator in the NFL, so there will be growing pains. Not sure the Niners will continue that forward momentum they started on last season.Smith is highly talented, and Hostler worked with him last season as his QB coach, but it remains to be seen whether or not Hostler can handle the day-to-day grind of being an NFL OC...his hiring will almost certainly affect Smith and Gore in a negative way, at least for 2007, due to his inexperience.

I just don't see that offense being as good as it was in 2006, without Norv Turner.

Smith will most definitely NOT become a breakout player in his third season, ala Carson Palmer. I'd put him down for roughly 17 tds, 13-15 ints..

I see JC as a guy I would draft as my #2 IF I had Peyton or Carson or Drew or Tom. He would probably not crack my line-up except for a bye week but he would be useful if my #1 went down. You would think JC will be able to avoid any crushing blows due to his youth and athleticism and therefore be healthy all year. Most importantly he can be had late and therefore be considered a value pick. IMO of course.

Bledsoe happened to get benched during my supplemental Dynasty Draft, and I picked him up in the 4th round, as the last player taken in that draft. Now that is value. Needless to say it was one of the best moves I've made. However, I see him more as a #3 QB witht he potential of becoming a high end #2. I trust Gibbs and Saunders analysis of talent much in the way I trusted Parcell's evaluation of Romo.

Rivers an Hass, I agree with you. But, I'm not as high on Romo as some. I may lean towards Campbell there. And, I'd still take Eli over JC.

He's not Marino or Bledsoe, but he's also not Steve Young, Vick, or McNabb. I think more than his athleticism, it's his size. He didn't so much run away from guys last year as he did shake them off and slide out of would-be sacks.
