Let me start off by saying I'm not trying to start a pissing match with those who thought/think Rodgers would become a big part of the Atl offense, or with those who thought/think Turner was/is still a top-10 RB. I also don't have a report, blog, or link that led me to start this topic.

Based on nothing than my own observations of Turner and Rodgers this year (as well as last year), coupled with Turner's recent DUI (and yes, I know he is unlikely to get suspended for it), should those of us in deep leagues look at grabbing Snelling as a "stash" guy?

Turner looks slow, fat, and old. He's averaging less than 3 YPC (2.6, I think), and isn't a threat in the passing game, even though the Falcons try to act like he is. Rodgers doesn't seem to be very involved, and based on last year, pre-season, and the first 2 games, I don't think he can get it done, as far as running the football.

Snelling isn't going to be a stud, but he (IMO) might be able to be a combination of Turner and Rodgers, (hopefully) without their shortcomings. Now, we haven't seen much of Snelling this year, so he might be just as slow as Turner, but he has the size to be a good inside runner, and based on what he has done in the past, he has "enough" speed to be successful in space (not Sproles successful, but adequate).

If Turner were to get hurt, or benched (because he isn't successful), would the Falcons be more likely to go with Snelling or Rodgers. I think if he were to get 15 touches a game, I think he'd make a decent flex, since he'd have the opportunity for TDs.

Given the cost, I picked him up in 3 leagues from waivers. And already have him rostered in another 2.

(12 team league, 53 man rosters.)

I'm hoping we do have clarity at some point, but the reward might be a time share with Rodgers in a pass first offense.

So he might be hard to hold, if another hot flavor of the week comes along IMO.

Definitely worth a look as an anti-Turner hedge bet though.

I would think, at best, you would end up with a guy who they were willing to give the short-yardage TD opportunities to and the token run game and then it would be up to him to play well enough to where it wouldn't let the Falcons ignore that he deserves more. He is an interesting guy because he HAS played well over the years as a Turner substitute.

I think if you are a Turner owner, it probably make sense for you to have him. I can see a scenario where later in the season this is a guy that is a solid rb3 and maybe better depending on how the team fares in any particular game.

I grabbed him in my leagues because he's a low cost low risk option and I had the bench space. Turner looks terrible and actions haven't agreed with the words as far as Rodgers is concerned. I always thought that Snelling would be the back to own if Turner went down.
