Let me start off by saying I'm not trying to start a pissing match with those who thought/think Rodgers would become a big part of the Atl offense, or with those who thought/think Turner was/is still a top-10 RB. I also don't have a report, blog, or link that led me to start this topic.
Based on nothing than my own observations of Turner and Rodgers this year (as well as last year), coupled with Turner's recent DUI (and yes, I know he is unlikely to get suspended for it), should those of us in deep leagues look at grabbing Snelling as a "stash" guy?
Turner looks slow, fat, and old. He's averaging less than 3 YPC (2.6, I think), and isn't a threat in the passing game, even though the Falcons try to act like he is. Rodgers doesn't seem to be very involved, and based on last year, pre-season, and the first 2 games, I don't think he can get it done, as far as running the football.
Snelling isn't going to be a stud, but he (IMO) might be able to be a combination of Turner and Rodgers, (hopefully) without their shortcomings. Now, we haven't seen much of Snelling this year, so he might be just as slow as Turner, but he has the size to be a good inside runner, and based on what he has done in the past, he has "enough" speed to be successful in space (not Sproles successful, but adequate).
If Turner were to get hurt, or benched (because he isn't successful), would the Falcons be more likely to go with Snelling or Rodgers. I think if he were to get 15 touches a game, I think he'd make a decent flex, since he'd have the opportunity for TDs.
