Jay Gruden is the OC of the Jacksonville Jaguars (1 Viewer)

I have my dynasty future invested partly in WAS and partly in JAX. Any information about this guy would be appreciated.

Before anyone says anything, it's Chark and McLaurin, so it's not like I have willfully ignored production by the franchises; these guys have risen to the fore even in the organizations' current states. I'm very high on two sub-4.4 guys, one who put up 1,000 yards last year and the other who sniffed it.

I also have Gandy-Golden, but that was a later third-round rookie pick. I still expect him to be a valuable contributor at the pro level.

The reports out of DC about Gruden are lousy. His performance off the field and the way he threw Haskins under the bus last year was lousy. His love of Chris Thompson makes me question his judgment.

Educate me.

I can’t. You are spot on. Sorry.

Dang. My freaking luck. One inept organization follows another. I might as well have drafted Jets. Oh wait, I made Mims 2.04. Lovely thinking.

But back to Gruden. That's it? That's all we got? I was hoping for some much-needed abuse here.

I hear he's so unpopular his players don't save his phone number.

Disagree. He is a good OC who did great work with Andy and made the best out of an awful situation in Washington

Impressive that he survived 4 years with a playoff appearance in that dumpster fire

Nice. What about him do you think is underrated. I know if he has a mobile TE like Jordan Reed he likes to use him, but what's his basic offensive scheme and how does it translate to a WR1, RB1, etc.?

And this also gives me a place to vent about the entire Redskins ship sinking, including two guys I value really highly.

Honestly I can’t say I have watched the Redskins enough BUT

But in Cincy he helped Dalton take a big step forward (and Hue imo got a lot of the credit for it) from below average QB to competent starter and made his hook up with AJG one of the most dominant red zone pairings in football

AJG is a guy I have seen as a ceiling comp for Chark as well so I think that can only be a good thing for him, especially when you factor in the possibility of him helping Minshew’s development

Otherwise I would add that he liked to use TEs mainly Eifert until they hurt and the Jags signed Eifert this offseason. He will probably get hurt soon again but he may be a thorn in  Chark’s target share if Minshew/passing volume don’t improve

Had a big thing for Chris Thompson too until he’d get hurt every season. Also now in JAX as maybe a pesky thorn for Fournette owners

Could Shenault fit into that te/satellite back position you think?

He could be a good fit certainly good into the satellite back position. TE not so much

Part of why I was low on Shenault though besides injuries is he is harder to project into the NFL.

I suppose the satellite back role could work though and be good for his PPR value
