Because I love Classic Country, my favorite movie and role of his was as Bad Blake in the movie Crazy Heart.

I think he won a Golden Globe for that, or at least was nominated multiple time for the role.

Paul McCartney, Pete Townsend, and Mick Jagger were comparing gifts that they had received over the years. Paul showed the other two a ring made with jewels cut and fitted into the shape of a beetle and said he had received it from the Queen as a thank you for sharing his music. They both agreed it was impressive. Pete Townsend showed the other two a necklace with gold letters an inch high that spelled 'Tommy' and said that he received it as a thank you for composing the rock opera. They both agreed it was impressive.
Mick Jagger then showed the other two a loaf of brown bread and said that he had received it after concerts in Algiers. Paul and Peter said that it was nice but not as impressive as their gifts.
Mick said 'I know, it's only a Moroccan roll but I like it, like it, yes I do

Loved him in the movie Hell or High water. Top 20 all time rewatch movie for me.

Thank you! Amazing performance in that, as well as his role in Crazy Heart (Bad Blake).
Loved the rapport between him and his partner.

Of course the best character in the entire movie was the waitress in that small town diner. “What DON’T you want?!”
Just a great scene

BL is the obvious choice, imo.

I thinking his performance in True Grit doesn't get enough attention. That hurts in the 'iconic' theme

Shame he has never played a Kaiser.
Like Kaiser Soze in The Usual Suspects?
Was thinking more of the Kaiser Wilhelm variety, but that works too.

Definitely Kevin Spacey’s most iconic roll.
American Beauty?
Seven? House of Cards?

If we’re talking movie role, House of cards wouldn’t count - plus they didn’t finish his role there due to his personal past. As for Se7en, amazing role, he just wasn’t on screen enough. But every time I see the scene in the police station where he yells “DETECTIVE!”, I get chills.
