Jeff Gordon Pepsi test drive fake? Do a real one. (1 Viewer)

Enjoyed the 1st one and enjoyed this one as well.

Don't really care if it's fake or not as long as it's well done and this one was.

I truly weep for America if people think this isnt fake.

Lets pretend for a second a tire pops and they crash into a building killing the dude. Off the top of my head I would say Chevy gets sued, Gordon gets sued, Pepsi and the dude who set him up. There is no insurance you can purchase for that. Its a fake people.
So by your rationale, no prank shows are real?

Here's the Jalopnik writer and his article.

I could care less if it IS fake. It entertained me, and I laughed. I need as much laughter as possible in my life when I'm stressed out all day, every day.

So all you "smart" killjoys claiming that it is fake - good for you. I'll believe it is real and be no less the wear for it.

I somehow missed this little gem. :lmao:

I don't think they would have made such a big deal about the first one being fake and this one being real if this were fake also. Too big of a blow-back.

The stunts were far less risky in this one and at far lower speeds, which also plays to the idea that the passenger wasn't in on it this time so they had to take less risks.

Seriously...you can buy insurance for ANYTHING. Literally. That's basically the job of an actuary...assign financial risk to uncertainty. Just because you can't get it from Nationwide or Geico doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

If you watch the video, he's going by some buildings and such, but I don't think it's the kind of thing where if a tire blew, he'd be catapulted directly into something. The turns were mostly in the clear, near pallets and other random industrial stuff, not buildings. The only scene where it looks like he gets going really fast is where he's going straight by a building. I'd honestly bet that he never gets above 60 MPH in that whole scene...it's just the confines of where he's at that makes it look so fast. Ever watch Autocross? It looks like they're flying, but they really never get above 60 MPH or so...it's just the tight turns and confines that make it look and feel faster.

I just can't imagine a scenario where Pepsi is talking to an insurance agent and this is said:

"We plan on taking a journalist on a ride doing donuts and driving about 35 to 45 mph on a closed course."

"Sorry. That's way too dangerous for us to handle."
