Jericho Cotchery flying to Baltimore... (1 Viewer)

Thoughts on Cotchery if he signs with Baltimore??

Free agent Jerricho Cotchery is en route to Baltimore for a visit with the Ravens.Cotchery left his Steelers visit Monday morning without a contract, probably because Pittsburgh could offer only veteran minimum money and no guarantee of a starting job. Cotchery would have a better shot at a first-team position in Baltimore, opposite Anquan Boldin. His addition would take some life out of rookie Torrey Smith's sleeper appeal in fantasy leagues.

I think he would be the #2 guy almost automatically. Unlikely they want Smith anywhere near the starting line-up week 1.
What kind of real life & fantasy projections? WR2-3??
Last year Mason had something like 60/800/7, I would venture to guess that Cotchery would be around those numbers, Mason is like 51 years old, Cotch has to be able to perform at least similarly and there is no Heap this year.

Do you like Cotchery better than Donnie Avery this season??

If Cotch is healthy, and can learn the offense well enough. Mason may be 51, but he is no dummy.

Has there ever been any word on Cotchery's health? I am stunned that the Jets cut him loose if he is healthy.

I think that he could have a very productive role with the Ravens for a year or two and help Q Boldin train up their talented rookie WRs.

If Cotchery signs with the Ravens and is the #2 guy, I definitely like him better. The Rams receivers are pretty much all up in the air and I think Avery would never be more than a #2 anyway if he starts at all. I also like Flacco better as a passer than Bradford at this point in their careers, but Bradford could be better soon with Josh MacDaniels leading the offense.

What's everyone's take on how this affects the value of Wallace? I think Wallace gets his 55-65 catches amd similiar targets. This really hurts Ward since they are similiar at this stage of their careers.

Right now Cotchery is the 5th wr. That could change with injuries or if Brown cannot be trusted to run right routes, but right now he will be 5th wr behind Wallace, Ward, Sanders and Brown.
