Imo going forward Cobb will be more of a drag on Driver and to a lesser extent the other receivers than Finley. Like has already been pointed out, Finley's matchup will usually be a favorable one unless teams insist on doubling him which as we saw last night is just a different form of suicide as Jennings and Nelson can carve you up just as easily as Finley can.

Why? Finley is all catch, no block. Quarless is developing into a good in-line blocker, and Crabtree can block or make short catches. Why would Finley not line up outside?

My only worry is that if the Packers offense is as good as it looked last night, they won't be throwing in the 4th quarter very often. Finley was double covered for most of last night but he looked great on all of his targets, and will still be a dominant RZ threat.

It just shows he's a very big part of that offense. He was on the field for a ton of snaps in a variety of roles. I think it shows owners need not worry about the week 1 stats, because it's obvious that the Packers have big plans for him.

I see a lot of delusional owners in this thread. Finley and all of the WRs will get decent yardage, with each getting a few big yardage games. So quality starts will hinge mostly on who gets the TDs that week. There isn't one person that the offense will funnel through. It isn't like Gates or Gonzalez in his prime, talent may be close, but opportunity is different.

All are solid options, just probably not quite worth where they were drafted, except Nelson in ppr.

He was doing that a lot last night and running very deep routes.(drawing lots of attention I'm sure) I don't know if they had a cb, safety or lb on him when he was lined up out wide.

Finley did line up outside. Saw a couple plays where he was to Rodgers's right out wide. But I also Quarless get in the game and Crabtree too lined up right out wide and made a catch (I think a third-down catch too if I'm not mistaken).

He's not physically incapable of throwing a block, it's just not his strength compared to his receiving and the other TEs' abilities.However, even if he is in the backfield someone has to be ready to cover him. McCarthy likes funky formations and I guarantee this one includes a check-to-pass that Rodgers can make for a play action TD to Finley.

For the second week in a row, I think to myself, this is going to be a great day. And for the second week in a row, he only has one catch for the rest of the game- either they forgot about him, or the defense is keying on him and making Rodgers go elsewhere.

Whatever the reason, it's really frustrating. I spent a high pick on this guy and I need to have him perform as a top 5 TE. Patience is not my strong suit when it comes to fantasy football.
