Jerricho Cotchery trade value (1 Viewer)

Why would you trade him? He is getting plenty of looks and Red Zone targets.

I own him. I don't plan to move him. I turned down T Holt for Cotchery yesterday.

Classic fools gold. The Jets WR to have is Coles.
I don't think it's so much Cotchery is Fool's Gold so much is that preseason Coles was Fool's Turd. All the buzz about Favre & Coles catfighting turns out to be much ado about nothing. Surprisingly, a 38-year-old QB will simply throw to whoever is open, regardless of how pissy a WR is about the team cutting his BFF.

I think Cotchery is real good but he is riding the pine behind Fitzgerald and Wayne on my team

5 red zone targets to Coles 10, 0 goal line targets to Coles 3.I like Cotch but Coles appears to be the main WR target when they get close to the goal line.

Due to injuries and resulting depth issues I traded Cotchery for S. Holmes and L. McLane (not even sure how to spell his name, lol!)

Traded Brandon Jacobs before last week's game to land him. Not a trade for everyone, but suited my needs. So far, I'm delighted.

I got him two weeks ago by giving up Aaron Rodgers (already had Brees and Delhomme).

I'm happy with the trade.

FWIW, no one in my 12 tam redraft league seems t think much of him. I've shopped him around since week 2, and can't generate any interest of note. I'll keep starting him, but not with confidence; he just isn't getting the targets like I had unrealistically hoped he would. Lav Coles does look pretty good, much to my chagrin

Coles 29Cotchery 25

Traded Cotchery and Favre for Fitzgerald and Roy Williams in a redraft...

Didn't really care to much for Roy Williams, but I needed an Elite Receiver in Fitz.

Cotchery has been productive (Top 10 in my PPR league), but many of his owners are simply frosted that he has been outplayed by Coles. They thought Coles was done and out of favor with Favre, and now are too bruised to accept they have been wrong so far. They are so bruised that they also refuse to embrace JC's solid numbers. Cotch has been just fine.

Hey!! Don't confuse things w/ facts/figures!! ;) Cotch rec'd ~40% of his total targets in mostly garbage time vs. SD....and I know all that matters is points ultimately scored, but it is a small bit concerning that Cotch didn't get any action until late in the game vs AZ, after they had built a huge lead.

I projected him as top-10. He is currently No. 10 in my non-PPR league. His real value is higher than his perceived value, so I've no interest in trading him right now.

Week 7 update

Just take a look at the stats of the first 3 4 quarters of last game.

Cotchery was a non factor.
Clearly a horrible week. That said, this thread is about people potentially moving Cotch and I would argue that this is the one week you absolutely would not want to move him.

No, this thread was about why you should have moved Cotch when he was a classic fools gold. Now its too late... he is nobodys gold.

Cotchery is still the #25 ranked WR in PPR scoring even after this terrible week. (Only 10pts overall behind Coles)

You may be right. That does not help any of us owners now but perhaps it makes you feel good? If so, glad that our pain makes you feel good.

I think its safe to say Cotchery reached his floor yesterday. I don't believe the Jets will continue to play that bad in the passing game and now that they are running the ball fairly well it will only be a matter of time before the passing game comes back around. I don't think he is going to be a top ten receiver by any means but I have him as a WR3 and I am holding on to him to see how the Jets fair. THey have Buffalo (#8 passing D) twice, and Tennessee(5)...but they also have some fairly good matchups in StL(25), Den(32), Sea(28) and some middle of road D's with NE(15), KC (13), and SF (18).

SF, Buff, Sea in the playoffs.

Reggie Wayne caught only two passes this week. S**t happens sometimes in this game. It sucks when it does but it doesn't automatically mean a player's value is in the toilet.

I don't see any reason to lose faith in Cotchery. He's a proven producer who has a quality QB on a team that will likely have to throw a lot most weeks. It was only two weeks ago where Cotchery caught 8 passes so it's not his production has been trending downward.

Every trade depends on who you're getting in return so I wouldn't say don't trade Cotchery. I would, however, strongly advise pursuing him - especially in a PPR league - if his owner in your league is frustrated after this week's disaster.

Yeah, what happens when he gets zero receptions and 1 rush for -5 yards, huh? HUH???

Traded Cotch for Winslow last week. The next day K2 is in the hospital. Sweet.

Coles is the man to have in NY.
