Jets Assistant Coaches... (1 Viewer)

So to put this in perspective, my season tickets at Gillette Stadium are in Section CL 13, which is directly below the opposing team's coaches box. As you exit the stadium, we walk right by the coaches box.

I understand all the trash talking/vitriol leading up to this game and I give the Jets all the credit in the world. They did what no one thought they would do and walked the talk.

After Greene scored the late game TD, lots of folks from my section began leaving. As they are ascending the stairs to exit, there are the Jets assistant coaches flipping off the fans as they are walking by the coaches box.

One guy, who was with his 9 year old son, was absolutely livid.

Understand emotion runs not only through players, but coaches as well.

But they need to keep it in check, somewhat, no?

I agree with you, coaches shouldn't flip fans off. That is poor sportsmenship.

However, shouldn't coaches also NOT run the score up repeatedly (reffering to Patriots 2007, when they were mad because of Spygate).

In fact, shouldn't coaches NOT cheat and play the game honestly? (referring directly to spygate?)

Those both teach kids bad sportsmenship as well.....

I am not a fan of the Pats, however, I am also not a fan of a team that does not play 60 minutes, the game is not 55 or 59 minutes long...Ask the Oilers from back in the day against the Bills....

I wonder if Jets will be trash talking the Steelers this week?
I'd be surprised. The only thing I can see being talked about would be Holmes vs. Steelers. Other than that, pretty tough for Rex and team to find anything.I think you're going to hear a lot about "Mission Impossible" this week (i.e., beating Steelers, Pats and Indy all on the road to the SB).

I wonder if Jets will be trash talking the Steelers this week?
I highly doubt it.... other then the "we're not afraid of anyone" type talk. The Pats thing was different and there was a real bad taste after the 45-3 beat down - A perfect storm of #### talk.I think the Jets as a whole have a lot more respect for the Steelers and not being division rivals helps.

Karma is a *****, watch what happens to the Jets soon, you cant escape Karma. Ask LeBron.
Facing The Colts in Indy is Huge....Facing The Pats in Foxboro is Huge...Facing the Steelers in Pitt is Huge....Hey if the Jets get smacked down at this point I think it has a little more to do with Football than Karma ####The truth is, other than a handful of The Elite NFL Teams and fans, most of the league and their fans would love to have a New HC and young QB with 4 Playoff victories and 2 Championship games in their 1st 2 years.....I'm sure as a fan, most want to see their team win as America's darling like your Saints but, that's not always the script. All I know is After this weekend I'll have had SIX PLAYOFF PARTIES in the past 2 Years with 4 Wins so far.... I"LL TAKE IT  :banned:

I am sure the NE fans were being nothing but respectful right?

Any professional football player or coach that whines about an opponent running up the score is a wuss.

I'm waiting for an Eagles fan to start a thread complaining about how he wasn't treated very kindly when visiting an opposing team's stadium.

why? What did you, your friends, and/or some group in the area say to the assistant coaches? The notion that they picked out some pats fans to just flash the bird at is kinda silly. something happened to make them do that.I'll never forget that famous jerk fan for the Washington Wizards.I don't really have a problem with the bird. Mooning would kinda bug me if I had my kid with me, but I'm pretty sure my daughter would know the person giving the bird is being a "meanie" or a "jerk." It's not threatening. It's clearly immature. The idiot doing it sorta feels like it represents his feelings well (although it pretty much has never meant the literal meaning). I haven't done it in 20 years nor known anyone my age during that time to do it. I'm not saying it's a good representation of the Pats or an acceptable level of professionalism by the assistant coaches. If this fourth grade gesture upsets you so much, what else makes you livid? Saturated fat or MSG on your food? Wedgies and wet-willies? Yeah I'm mocking a bit, but I mean well. Dude it was "a bird" get over it.

 Any chance you get, you run up the score. No lead is safe in the NFL. The Giants found that out this year. 2011, a great team should run up the score every week and get their starters out of there by the end of the 3rd Q with an 18 game season. That's what I would do. Of course, I would politely ask the other team if they want to give up.

or a Bills fan calling a team that loses in the Super Bowl a bunch of chokers. ;)
Sorry, that was a low blow.
:towelwave: too funny, the banana guy is perfect. What a team those were though. I used to collect every Bills card I could get my hands on. 32 was my number in every sport I played.

haha - Sore Pat fan right here - I highly doubt that the assistant coaches would do this - if so we'll hear about it in the media pretty soon.

As an Eagles fan, I can say that I have had the "opportunity" to see fans say and do many things that I would deem inappropriate for children. It is unfortunate that alot of people that I know won't bring their kids to a game because of this. I understand that we are adults, and that it is probably just a couple random drunk people that would be putting the bad taste in people's mouth.

BUT, that is from a fan. I can see no reason that a coach of a professional team would have any reason to do this. Regardless of what any of the fans might have said, it shows a lack of class and professionalism.

It is easy to say that the Pats deserve it, but that isn't the arguement. Their are alot of teams and/or fans that might deserve it, but that doesn't mean that a coach should stoop to that level. This is just my opinion, but I think it is another example of what Rex Ryan and his antics allow in NY. If it was a fan, then it is a different story, but coaches should be held to a higher standard.

They have uniform numbers in synchronized swimming?

stop whining

These kind of threads always spiral into nonsense and hypocrisy...every team in the NFL has some classless players and been a part of some classless behavior...every team...yet when something percieved as classless happens to their team they get all up in arms...the NFL is filled with dopes who talk third grade trash and if you want to shut them up the best way to do it is to beat them on the field...

Pretty inexcusable for coaches to be flipping off fans. I don't care what the fans are saying, you need to stay above the fray.

Are you saying those NE fans were well mannered and respectful to the Jets players and coaches throughout the game? That 9 year old kid probably learned a few new #### words sitting with drunk Pats fans behind the Jets bench after all that smack talk leading up to the game. If you want to be pissed at anyone, it should be the dad who took his kid to the game in THAT SECTION OF THE STADIUM. C'mon man!

I'm sure the Patriots fans were being nothing but respectful. Just because I was sitting quietly in my seats before the game and had a Patriots fan slap me in the back of the head, and then had another fan yell "**** you Revis!!" (I was wearing a Revis jersey) doesn't mean that there were loud and obnoxious fans anywhere else.

:useless: Need to see the bird. Otherwise, it could be a Patriots' fan playing old tapes.

Yes, they're on top of the bathing caps.

Karma is a *****, watch what happens to the Jets soon, you cant escape Karma. Ask LeBron.
Why, what happened to LeBron?
I believe his team is like 30-10 and they had one of the longest away winning streaks in NBA history...in the mean time, his old team is floundering at the bottom of the standings...yeah, karma has stung LeBron. Now the owner of the Cavs is a very different story; that is a proper example in karma biting one in the tail.

What happens is the Cavaliers owner publicly berated LeBron and wished bad luck on him. And, as LeBron himself mentioned, karma has a way of biting back at you.

This explanation makes sense...the original post mentioned Lebron made it seem like he had suffered at the hands of bad Karma

And he still can't beat the Celtics.

The Jets coaches shouldn't be flipping the bird to fans, but it wouldn't happen if the Pats fans weren't a bunch of classless idiots.
