all right, here we go. I'll make it real simple for all you Bahstin folk.

In the preseason, your overrated Pats will have to travel to Tampa, back home (stay with me, that would be New England), to Carolina, back home (New England again), then come to Jersey to take your week1 beating.

That's ~4750 miles of travel before you even take the field. The Jets? 100 cushy miles down the Turnpike to Philly and back  (that would be 200 miles total, ok? don't hurt yourselves) Their first 3 preseason games are at the Meadowlands.

Tommy boy is going to be too sleepy  with all that travel and being up all night taking care of his two illegitimate kids to even get out of bed, let alone play football. The game is in the bag.

Jets 24-13

Week 1 (Aug. 9-13) at Tampa Bay

Week 2 (Aug. 16-20) Tennessee

Aug. 24 at Carolina 8:00 p.m. (CBS)

Week 4 (Aug. 31-Sept. 2) N.Y. Giants (this game could be on thursday)

The PATS travel to NJ a week before the game adn if it's on thursday we'll have 10 days to rest. The TB and CAR trips will long since over by the time the season starts that is just a lame ### reason for a team to lose it's opener!!!

Except the fact that your J-E-T-S will get beaten in the opener and it will be better that you come to grips with it now so you won't be crushed then!!!

Sure, the Jets could beat the Pats in week 1. This is the NFL afterall.

Do you think they beat them in the AFC East?

Whats more important?

I wish it were a later game. actually it'd be pretty sweet if they played each other week's 16 and 17.

I'm not that worried about the travelling. The starters will likely be sitting most of the summer games so I don't think it can be considerred much of a "grind" then.

Maroney's first full game as "the man" with no Dillon around to share the load should be interesting. I'm sure BB could use Morris and Faulk more but I don't think he'd want to. It's week 1, let the youngster take his lumps. He looked real good at times so I'm real curious how he'll do. Jets better get some LBer depth before then and keep their DTs healthy.

I think Mangini had a great gameplan the first matchup and then got totally schooled by BB in the second. I hope that calms down some. For at least part of the game I'd like to enjoy the players outplaying their opponent and not so much coaching stuff. It WAS interesting but I think I could get sick of that pretty quick.

I heard there's a new rule that Jet receivers are allowed to fair catch Pennington's throws.

That's bullcrap. The NFL hates the Pats!

:stirspot:

Big game to come out of the gates with. If the Jets are to give the Pats a run for the AFC East crown this is pretty much a must win game. That sounds pretty dramatic for a week one game but since there's only six divisional games a loss to the Pats at home would put them behind the 8-ball pretty quickly. The Pats tend to get stronger as the season goes on and a loss here will make it that much more difficult to play catch-up in the standings and in the tie-breaker department.

In the last 10 games these teams have met the Pats are 9-1 and they are the better team on paper as well. It will be week one and the Jets are a solid up and coming team and anything's possible. Yet, right now I feel very comfortable saying that if the Pats play well they are going to be a very difficult team to beat regardless of who the opponent is. They have a chance to be a very good team this year. The vibe is extremely positive in Patriotland and hopefully it will continue thru the draft and the actual season.

although I'd love to see the JETS beat NE opening day, last time he played the Jets, Mangini ate Bellichick's lunch..

Can't see that happening again,at least not on opening day..

As a Pats fan I could live with a 15-1 reg season.
 :bye: :D Here is a short list of things that will happen before your scenario does:1) Hell will freeze over2) I will be in a threesome with Jessica Alba and Kate Beckinsale3) Milwaukee's Best will become America's preferred beer

Any divisional matchup can be tough, ask Indy who gets beat by a lousy Houston team and then goes on a roll to win the SB. If the Jets, Bills or Fins beat the Pats I won't be shocked. If the Pats can go 5-3 or 6-2 in the division they should be in decent shape. Predicting a team to win at home vs a divisional foe isn't going out on a limb.

true, but given the off season the Pats have had so far coupled with their two first round draft picks, analyst are giving them the AFC East by default. They look great on paper for 07, but you gotta play the games. The Pats/BB give the Jets 0 respect, none. I wouldn't be surprised if BB isn't looking passed the Jets to the AFC Divisional rematch with SD the following week. The Pats very well could start the season 0-2. sweet!

btw, I'm dead serious about Brady's play being affected by his personal life. As soon as a guy puts himself in the media regarding his affairs with the ladies, bad things happen.

Off the top of my head I can come up with a few examples. Andre Agassi's game went to crap when he shacked up with Brooke Sheilds, he split up with her, back on top. Derek Jeter's game went to crap when he got with Mariah Carrie and was warned by Torre that she was affecting his play, he dumps her, Jeter's the man again. Even Tiger's game suffered at first after he got with that Swedish bombshell. I can't blame him, she is smoking hot!

Cut off the head and the body dies.

It could happen, but Im not counting on it. Whens the last time the Jets beat the Pats in the Meadowlands?

There is ZERO chance this happens.
I think he's on to something...Brady will be unprepared and BB is looking past a divisional rival...this type of stuff has been an issue for the Pats the past six years and it will come to head this year.
