The Kona Grill across from my building is the only place I have ever been to where they were unable to steam broccoli successfully. It came out olive drab. WTF? Solid happy hour though. You will likely have other interviews you will use this outfit for. Plus you can can rock the happy hour at Kona Grill.
I won't be going for the broccoli anywayThe Kona Grill across from my building is the only place I have ever been to where they were unable to steam broccoli successfully. It came out olive drab. WTF? Solid happy hour though.![]()
What's your 40 time? Might be time for a career change with that build.Whats funny? I'm 6 feet tall and 220 pounds and not fat. That's a strong safety build bro
They were in a job fair I attended a while back, Seems like a decent company Could be good, just wasn't what I wanted.Well......it's not a sales position. It's a legit customer service management position and the base pay is as advertised.
American income life. One of the top rated insurance companies in the country they say.
3 steps in the interview process. The guy moved me on to step 2 very quickly and I'm taking a survey and then there is a 45 minute presentation.
Ill update soon as I can.
What didn't you like? They were in a job fair I attended a while back, Seems like a decent company Could be good, just wasn't what I wanted.
It's not a sales position. No cold calling or door to door. They are an underwriter for unions and occupational associations so I will only be helping people that have contacted us with an interest through their unions.selling insurance isn't my thing. I didn't apply but I did talk with the person for a bit (I talked with most businesses at the fair. Then did a little research on the company.
Might be great for you.
ok.It's not a sales position. No cold calling or door to door. They are an underwriter for unions and occupational associations so I will only be helping people that have contacted us with an interest through their unions.
They specifically said they aren't looking for salesmen. They are looking for customer service specialists.
it's a dumb question but so is the idea that a survey tells the company everything they need to know. The only thing that may sink my chances is if I answered any of the survey questions wrong.
There is one in particular I am worried about.
the questions are standard
agree
somewhat agree
somewhat disagree
disagree
Although worded more specifically.
" If a policy was implimented where no reimbursements for business expenses are given without a receipt and a subordinate lost a $100 receipt would you still reimburse them"?
i chose the " somewhat agree" option which was "probably not. It wouldn't be fair to make an exception for anyone"
I think I should have chosen the first option " no. Rules are rules"
My reasoning being if I was asked is that I wouldn't make that decision myself but because there are sometimes extraneous circumstances , and because I would feel bad for the employee, I would consult with a superior if an exception could be made.
Could that answer sink my chances?
That wasn't an option.it's a dumb question but so is the idea that a survey tells the company everything they need to know.
it probably wasn't an option but "I'd advise the subordinate to call the company to get a copy of the receipt" seems one of the better answers.
That wasn't an option.
I shouldn't worry?
why worry? your answer was fine - essentially you said to follow the rules but try to see if you can help your subordinate. If they ask I'll use a response similiar to that.why worry? your answer was fine - essentially you said to follow the rules but try to see if you can help your subordinate.
As someone who has approved payments without a receipt despite the rule being that there must be a receipt, I think it's fine to exercise reasonable discretion.
You can interview at multiple places.Just got a call for an interview for a dispatcher with a trucking company. 36k with an option on slow or my off days to take out some straight truck loads for around $200 a day.
She seemed to really like me on the phone and said she would pretty much offer me the job but wants to meet me first. I explained I am currently in an interview process elsewhere and didn't want to commit to an interview and possible waste her time until I know where I stand with the other oppurtunity.
She was very understanding and gave me her cell. Said I can call any time when I'm ready to come in for an interview.
yep. call the woman back asap and interview for the dispatcher position too.You can interview at multiple places.
Exactly. In a worse case scenario, you have to decide among multiple job offers. Keep your options open. You can interview at multiple places.
The biggest mistake people make in their job search is not interviewing for all types of opportunities at the same time. Folks will say I really want to only look at X jobs but if that doesn't work out I will start looking at Y jobs and then X jobs. You want to explore options for X, Y & Z all at the same time. This is good advice and surprised you would offer it.
I am trying to find something in a different field than staffing. I am holding staffing as my fall back plan if nothing else pans out. I know I could at the very least easily get a recruiting job with almost any staffing firm with my experience and ability.
I told her I will have more information tomorrow afternoon and I will reach out to her.yep. call the woman back asap and interview for the dispatcher position too.
better to have more options than less.
I'd like more info on this. Is Bespoke the name you'd lookup on Ebay? Did you go get yourself measured somewhere or just measure yourself? There are a couple of bespoke tailors on eBay that will make a custom suit to your measurements for around $200. I bought one a couple years back. You can upgrade materials and designs. When you get it they will even give you a refund up to $35 if you have to have a local tailor tweak the fit. (I didn't need to as the for was perfect)
ok.I told her I will have more information tomorrow afternoon and I will reach out to her.
I'm assuming they will call me today to come in for the 3rd interview tomorrow. Either way I will set up a meeting with her tomorrow either in the morning or after I meet with the insurance company.ok.
don't wait too long though.
You have short legs.RokNRole said:Just got back from Burlington Coat Factory and was able to put this together.

I was originally going to go with a grey suit but they didn't have the matching pants in my size. What do you guys think?
Everything came to $202

If I don't hear from them today I will get back to her tonight.
Thank you.![]()

re: interviews... IMO, this is like just signing up for one of those i-dating sites. you don't want to limit your replies to other girls because one of them might be interested in a date. find all of them you're interested in, set up dates and have sex. with real live girls.
I have a connect with pretty damn good blow. Picked up an 8 ball a few months back and had a good time on a Friday and Saturday playing 4-5 video games from beginning to end.For the Texas summer heat you might consider going seersucker. It's a bit of a bold move, but can be done well. If you do one in a very light blue, instead of the traditional all white or striped you can even get away with your current shoes.
Go with very light blue, a white shirt, and a tie and pocket square matching your shoes. French cuffs on the shirt are a nice touch if you have matching cuff links, tie clasp and watch. I suspect you do not, and really that look is not business attire at that pay level. For God sakes do not go white with bolo or bow tie. You are not going for the Colonel Sanders look, you are going for a heat comfortable suit. Give some consideration to your belt and socks. If you are going with your current shoes you want that to be ironic, not pathetic. Your choice of belt, socks, tie, tie clasp and pocket square will tell that tale.
Take some coke along in a bullet, just in case the Interviewer is cool. You guys can bond over a couple of bumps. Do not skimp on the quality here. Nothing worse than crappy blow mid-morning on a Tuesday.
I was considering that....but if the insurance company calls me in tomorrow and I go to meet her after I'll already be in my full garb. What could it hurt to walk in spiffy? For the dispatcher job you may want to ditch the jacket and tie
Leave the jacket and tie in the car and put them on later. Just with the shirt and trousers you pictured you may be over dressed "spiffily" enoughI was considering that....but if the insurance company calls me in tomorrow and I go to meet her after I'll already be in my full garb. What could it hurt to walk in spiffy?
There is a guy in my building that I think works as a customer service phone guy. He wears a black suit with a shirt buttoned down disco style dress shirt and a corsage every day. I'm pretty sure that group is jeans and a polo shirt dress code. For the dispatcher job you may want to ditch the jacket and tie
This is the seller I bought from. They are in Dubai. So, it took a few months from beginning to end. You can have a local tailor measure you. I had my wife take the measurements. I would recommend that you measure twice a couple of days apart. Once you send the measurements, they will contact you if something looks out of the ordinary.I'd like more info on this. Is Bespoke the name you'd lookup on Ebay? Did you go get yourself measured somewhere or just measure yourself?
Difference being that the phone-in customers will never see disco stu, but the truckers show up at the office on occasionThere is a guy in my building that I think works as a customer service phone guy. It's not all office work. I will also be visiting clients that respond through their unions at home to discuss policysDifference being that the phone-in customers will never see disco stu, but the truckers show up at the office on occasion
I'm talking about the dispatch job's dress code which is highly unlikely to be business suit and a tie. It's not all office work. I will also be visiting clients that respond through their unions at home to discuss policys
By the way Rok, I think I have a suit, same brand name, paid more for it, but it's olive instead of a blue window pane. Oh, and it's an adult size. ;-)It's not all office work. I will also be visiting clients that respond through their unions at home to discuss policys
You and stu can party one of these days then.By the way Rok, I think I have a suit, same brand name, paid more for it, but it's olive instead of a blue window pane. Oh, and it's an adult size. ;-)
My situation was being compared to disco stuI'm talking about the dispatch job's dress code which is highly unlikely to be business suit and a tie.
And as far as I'm aware, disco stu ain't you
I'd need the corsage, that's what really ties his look together. I'm more of a fake squirt flower on the lapel kinda guy.You and stu can party one of these days then.
When will you guys consider these joke beaten to a pulp and let it go?By the way Rok, I think I have a suit, same brand name, paid more for it, but it's olive instead of a blue window pane. Oh, and it's an adult size. ;-)
Yeah, so then you already know why you shouldn't show up in a suit and tie for the dispatch jobMy situation was being compared to disco stu
for the dispatch job I just have to wear work clothes in case they want me to take out a load
