Did a search and all I found was the spotlight thread. i'm thinking more in terms of dynasty here. how has Flacco looked in camp so far? Whether he starts or not this year isn't a big concern.
if the first preseason game is any indication, this is the right plan.Every play Flacco either showed his lack of accuracy or his lack of pocket presence.

Rotoworld was saying he's taking less and less snaps at practice.
Ravens scale back Flacco's practice snaps
The Ravens have scaled back first-round pick Joe Flacco's practice snaps.
He's fallen to third on the depth chart behind Kyle Boller and Troy Smith. The Ravens will probably decide on a Week 1 starter after this weekend. Smith will start Saturday vs. Minnesota. Boller will come off the bench, which actually may work in his favor because he'll be facing Vikings backups. Aug. 13 - 12:45 pm et
Reading between the lines of the latest reports indicates to me that the staff is not feeling confident that Flacco will be ready anytime soon.
Continuing to scale back his snaps is not the direction you'd hope to see. I don't know that he'll see much action at all this season, if any.
Unless Troy Smith absolutely crashes against the Vikings this weekend, he'll be the starter and will probably perform better than most people expect or think.
I wouldn't "assume" anything just yet when it comes to Flacco.

Yes lets judge him solely based on a few preseason snaps. He probably won't play this year, but that's the best thing that could probably happen for him. QB's get thrown in the fire too quickly in the NFL now, and it can be a real confidence breakers (see JP Losman, John Beck, etc.). I think sitting on the bench for a year or two will do wonders for him.

When you get thrown in with the big boys and look lost.....you are probably in over your head. Talent is talent. You can tell right away when someone is thrown into the NFL if they belong or not. Its not sounding to promising for him. I thought they reached in the draft to get him and it appears that they did.
The guy is coming from 1-AA ball guys, let's not go overboard. All the talk about him starting at any point was pretty much ignoring that. Think about what a huge jump it is from D-1 to the NFL. I'd say the gulf from 1-AA to D-1 is almost as big.
