Joe Flacco is #1 most overvalued QB on the FBG Overrated list. While he had two bad games to start the year last year, from weeks 3 through 16 he was the #7 ranked QB in the NFL. I just find it amazing how little love the man gets from a fantasy football prospective. I realize that he lost Mason and Heap this year, but both were well past their prime and my guess is that we will not see anything from them at their new teams. Lee Evans fits in nicely with a strong arm QB like Flacco and should spread the offense as well as increasing his Y/A. They are a running team first, but that does not mean he cannot put up numbers, as evidenced below.
Weeks 3 - 16, 2010
CMP ATT PYD Y/A PTD INT
Aaron Rodgers 255 387 3250 8.3979 23 8
Joe Flacco 252 390 3054 7.8308 24 4
Matt Ryan 285 460 2975 6.4674 23 8
This comparison is not to say Aaron Rodgers is not a better QB, we all agree he is. This also does not include the 239 more rushing yards that Rodgers had over that period. However, for a QB that is being taken in the first two rounds of most drafts vs. a QB that is being taken after the 10th round, I would want a lot more divergence. I included Matt Ryan because for some reason those two are always being compared to each other.
I realize it is convienent for me to just exclude the first two weeks, but even if you include them, he had almost the exact same stats as Matt Ryan, who I think we can all agree gets a lot more love (Matt Ryan has better receivers but he did last year too). Is there something I am missing?
