John Bolton, our old NSC- says he resigned, Trump says he’s fired. (1 Viewer)

Sad to say but I'd easily be a better POTUS than our two choices we have.

Good to have your endorsement, though!
You continue to dodge the point. Which is that even a terrible human being like John Bolton has more credibility than Donald Trump. It's a no brainer who to believe. Donald lies about everything. The man isn't grounded in any kind of reality.

In all seriousness, I would vote for you over Trump.

Better than Biden?  Come on. You may disagree with him on some major issues, but he's been VP and a Senator for Decades. He'll be fine.

IMO, there is a reason the campaign is keeping him in the basement.  He's showing signs of significant age related mental decline.  I don't think he's capable of the rigors of the office.

I'd bet my house that Biden can point to a map, find Finland, and explain that it is, indeed, a separate country from Russia. No, I don't want to thumbwrestle over Biden vs Trump, I mean just accepting that Trump is that ignorant, and that incompetent, is really the point, and it's also Bolton's.

There was a comparable story from the Ukraine investigation where supposedly Trump couldn't find Ukraine on the map. His not understanding it had been invaded during the campaign, and IIRC he said something similar about Ukraine really being Russian, are also known, so I think it's all consistent.

You can argue it's just plain ignorance, that a man who is President of the United States is just that [expletive] [adjective about education and intellectual capability that is against the rules here], fine, I'll certainly shake on that.

All he needs to do is delegate to competent people and focus on a few key decisions. If his VP is not Sarah Palin, then we're still in good shape if he needs to step down.

The reason he is staying inside is a worldwide pandemic.

If it turns out he has mental decline and is unable to handle the job he will step down and turn the office over to a competent VP.

He was being shielded from making much in the way of personal appearances from before the pandemic.  This situation has been quite the boon for him as he has a great excuse not to speak out much.

I will be very interested in whom he chooses as VP.  Since he's committed to a woman I'd hope for a not far left person.  Gabbard, maybe.

He’s not picking Tulsi Gabbard.

Watch the last debate with Bernie Sanders. Both he and Bernie had plenty of time to speak and Biden came across fine.

Michael Cohen's book, "Disloyal:  A Memoir" is scheduled to be published tomorrow.  If any of his allegations are true, it's just going to add all sorts of fuel to the fire.  Unfortunately for Trump, many of the quotations sound like something Donald would say.

Mr. Trump described contestants in the Miss Universe contest, which he once owned, as “the finest pieces of ### from every state and country,” Mr. Cohen writes. Mr. Cohen also recounts standing on the grounds at Mr. Trump’s Bedminster, N.J., golf club in 2012, as Mr. Trump pointed to the tennis courts—where Mr. Cohen’s then 15-year-old daughter, Samantha, was playing—and said: “Look at that piece of ###…I would love some of that.”

After Mr. Cohen told his boss that he was referring to his daughter, the lawyer writes that Mr. Trump responded: “When did she get so hot?” Samantha Cohen was disgusted, Mr. Cohen writes.

Mr. Cohen says he wrote most of the book in longhand, on yellow legal paper, while in a federal prison camp in upstate New York.

Interesting twist to the ongoing litigation against Bolton by the government:

Ms .Ellen Knight the former Senior Director for Records Access and Information Security Management at the National Security Council (NSC) who conducted the prepublication review of Ambassador John Bolton's book with her staff at the White House.

(17-page letter)

She has retained counsel - and is offering to provide testimony in the case, essentially detailing the process she, and her team, went through to clear the book, and the subsequent political pressure put on by the White House - on a non-political issue.

Ms. Knight has spent her career avoiding the spotlight and has no interest in the public attention that has accompanied this litigation. Given that reticence, she was initially happy to remain on the sidelines of the litigation. With the government’s recent effort to prevent any discovery – which would have the effect of precluding scrutiny of the government’s conduct and motives in the Bolton prepublication review process – she now feels an obligation to tell her account of that process and to help fill in the gaps that have been left in the public narrative to date. The foregoing provides a general summary of that account.

To be clear, Ms. Knight is not taking sides in the litigation. She does not take issue with all the actions of the government attorneys with whom she interacted; a number of them conducted themselves with absolute professionalism, were understanding of her concerns as a career public servant, and were obviously trying their best to operate under very challenging circumstances. In fact, it appeared to Ms. Knight that most, if not, all of them were being directed to implement a strategy with which they were not entirely comfortable. Nor does she align herself with Ambassador Bolton and his decision to write and publish such a book, aside from supporting his constitutional right to do so in accordance with the prepublication rules.

Her interest in this litigation is simply to set the record straight and to help ensure that the important process of prepublication review is not tainted by political concerns. To that end, she stands ready to provide her account of the Bolton prepublicationreview and to be of assistance to you and the Court in this important matter.
