It's a contract issue. He will be back before too long ... maybe not for Week 1, but he will be back.Sorry didn't realize this had been reported elsewhere... and I know it's not huge news but I found it funny.I remember seeing him on NFL Network after being signed talking about how he had long admired the Pats from afar, which, as a Broncos fan, kind of annoyed me. So I found it to be poetic justice of sorts to see him get kicked to the curb by this organization he has always admired. And in truth, I never really understood the signing to begin with. Sure, he's a high character, smart football player in the Pat's mold, but the last thing that defense needed was another slow washed up Safety.

does it really matter? I'll eat crow if he makes an impact.if he's on the roster for week 1 his season's salary is guaranteed, I believe.so, they cut him, so that he's NOT on the roster, then re-sign him in week 2 where they can do what they want w/his dough later on in the season if he gets the axe again.anyway, we'll see what happens in week 2.they could probably use him in a big nickel as a hybrid lb/safety.he should help a lot -- hopefully he returns.edit:if he signs back on in a few weeks are you guys going to bump this thread up and eat your crow?

Fixedthis thread will be hilarious if he re-tires.
i would not have minded the Browns taking a look at him. any team thin at saftey would have to consider it.NY radio reporting "sources" say he is very close to signing with the Jets.
Sure, he's a high character, smart football player in the Pat's mold
Not sure what's confusing... he seems to fit with the type of guys they go after. Or at least the type of guys they used to go after. Care to explain your confusion? Perhaps 'high character' is a bit inaccurate.phthalatemagic said:Sure, he's a high character, smart football player in the Pat's mold![]()
If true this is one loophole the NFL needs to close. That's absolutely absurd and if it isn't cheating, it should be. I hope somebody else steps up and signs him instead.Reiss has speculated that NE will be bringing him back... something about veteran contracts guarantees if the player is with the team from camp through start of the season.I don't know what the exact details/loopholes are but it sounds like it's a temporary cut so that NE has minimal committment to him if he's unable to play a full season.
Perhaps your right about the ethics, but rest assured that the practice is commonplace. If true this is one loophole the NFL needs to close. Easy way to get around it....another team offer him more money and better role. The Jets are getting a little ridiculous with bringing in everyone cut from the Pats. It was cute for a time but they need to worry about themselves because they aren't in any competition with the Pat's except maybe in Mangenious's mind....If true this is one loophole the NFL needs to close. The high character bit is as far from accurate as possible. Not sure what's confusing... he seems to fit with the type of guys they go after. Or at least the type of guys they used to go after. Yeah, I guess you're right... I think I've been brainwashed by the talking heads in the media. That said, I think pretty much every player on that team has far more character than the head coach. Watching the post Super Bowl interviews, I thought most of them showed a lot of class. And then there was Belichek. The high character bit is as far from accurate as possible. Not sure what's confusing... he seems to fit with the type of guys they go after. You don't have to know him personally to know that walking off of the field before the Super Bowl was even over is about as classless as it gets.... But you can keep defending him all you want. I doubt you'll find anyone outside of New England who thinks he has even one ounce of class. Of course I could continue to spout off reasons why the guy is a jerk, but we've all heard them and there's no reasoning with people like you.well, he seems pretty popular w/those 'classy' guys.but, you probably know him better than they do.....
But you do have to know him, to know that Tony Dungy, (A guy I have a lot of respect for) called him "one of the greatest human beings he ever met." This was the guy that won the Bart Starr award for leadership on and off the field . A guy that started the John Lynch foundation and has been involved with a bunch of charities. If you want to swallow a bitter pill, feel free to do so. Just don't force the same pill down my throat. In a league with Pacman and Vick, I think the last thing you should bring up is Lynch's character. His career didn't start in Denver and I'm pretty sure it won't end there, so I recommend a support group or something.
Who the hell bashed Lynch's character? I said he was a HIGH ChARACTER guy in the Pats mold, and got bashed for suggesting the Pats sought high character guys. Next time you post something, make sure you know what the hell you're talking about. But you do have to know him, to know that Tony Dungy, (A guy I have a lot of respect for) called him "one of the greatest human beings he ever met." You're a hopeless case. I guess the lesson here is we know nothing about anyone unless we've met them personally, and should thus refrain from disucssing anything or anyone not personally connected to us. Not sure what we'll talk about, but thanks, I didn't realize that was the common etiquette.badmouthing someone you don't know anything about isn't what I'd call 'classy'.I wonder if he hops on the net and spends his free time ripping people. just sayin'...
Yeah I kind of picked up on that. Still, anyone who reads the whole thread AND has half a brain should be able to follow...I guess I'll just end this by saying that I am NOT a classy guy. There. Now there's nothing these guys to tell me that I don't already know.TG, this is on you (but still just a misunderstanding). W/o really stating it, you guys shifted the "classy" discussion to Belicheat, when the thread is about Lynch. Thus, it looks like your rant is about Lynch.Try using less pronouns next time![]()
Oh that's it! I have too much brain for your posts! Had I only had half a brain, I may not have picked up on bitterness and sarcasm.thatguy said:Yeah I kind of picked up on that. Ya know, you could just admit that you misread the intent of my post, defended Lynch unnecessarily, and move on...By the way, I never implied that you only have half a brain... my assumption was that you just hadn't read the whole thread. John Lynch randy moss is 100% washed up. Signing him only hurts your football team.
