Where does he rank?

"Blowout" is strangely good, and the original "Look Who's Talking" is not as horrible as most everyone thinks.

Urban Cowboy and Pulp Fiction make up for a lot of crap he put out but he really doesn't have a lot of range as an actor. I voted very good and that is probably being kind.

Battlefield Earth.....of course!

All kidding aside he is a good actor. Has a ton of bad movies and some real gems. My fav's are:

Grease

Saturday Night Fever

Pulp Fiction

Face-Off

Blow Out

Considered putting him in the top tier for his best work, but with his range it would have to be a huge tier.

He's clearly below Freeman, Cruise, Pitt, Clooney, Smith, and Damon

Probably among the Statham, Schwarzenegger, Steve Carell, Jim Carey, Nick Cage tier. Good at what they do, but it's limited.

Since "All-time" on your list is followed by "movie star" instead of "actor," I voted that way. Just since in his heyday, he was one of Hollywood's all time panty-peeling leads.

Using that same criteria, I voted SNF rather than one of the (I believe) objectively better movies, just because it was a far better vehicle for what made him a star.

If it were more about acting and great cinema, I'd have voted Pulp Fiction and Not Good or Cheesy.

Battlefield Earth. Nuff said.

Voted cheesy, Pulp was an anomaly...and now that I think about it, great movie but his acting was nothing special in it.

I don't know how to interpret the rankings but Travolta has been a bankable movie star for parts of five different decades. His versatility to do action, romance, comedy and musical roles is a throwback to classic Hollywood and sets Travolta apart from a lot of modern actors.

not good.

but I enjoyed his performance in Get Shorty more than the rest of those (as much as I prefer the movie Pulp Fiction)
