John Wick--New Keanu Reeves Movie (1 Viewer)

Loved it. Totally cool movie that plays to Reeves strengths as an actor (which is not much acting). Very good action movie.

 
Prefer Taken and The Equalizer when it comes to one guy killing huge amounts of people but it was still pretty good.

 
John Wick and The Equalizer were similar in scope. Wick was just done better and much more stylized which in this case was a major plus. I don't expect a sequel from either. Wick had a lot of momentum but the last act was pedestrian.

Agree with Daywalker's analysis. You could probably interchange Keanu and Denzil and still come up with the same stylistic formula driven film. Now Fury did have it's flaws, but those tank battle scenes were pretty cool. Also it pains me to say but I actually was able to see a movie where Shia Labeouf was tolerable.

I dug it. I liked that they took a more dramatic/dark look at it rather than scratching the surface like many other films in the genre would have done.

I found it funny being in a theater of 95+% men that every time a puppy was shown there was an audible, "aww," that spread throughout the theater.
 
Watched it on Friday night in 4K /. Ultra and came away thinking that it was the best thing I've seen in the resolution.

 
worth a watch.

If you like HBO shows this movie is for you. I think every show they ever made has a character in this movie.

 
Started watching but was tired. Fell asleep after they killed his dog for no reason. Time for vengeance.

 
I'm in for a sequel. I hope that they focus on the hotel and that world with its rules. Seemed like there was potential there for a lot.

 
Thought it was cool in that article said that k. Reeves brought the script to his two stunt doubles from the matrix and they choreographed and directed John Wick as first time directors

I liked it and would be in for a sequel. It was a great popcorn flick and as soon as the dog was killed you knew it was on. I mean dude killed a small nations worth of people to avenge that and I enjoyed it.

 
The second time I watched it I tried to keep his body count. I think I ended up with 77, but I suspect I missed some... hard to keep up.

Yeah that really was interesting, a neutral ground regardless of affiliations. I want to know more about the currency of the coins, thought that was really interesting as well.

 
The awesome thing about the shoot out scenes is the head shots. First off, unlike every action movie I've ever seen, he makes sure EVERYONE is dead. Two gutshots isn't satisfactory for him. Gotta finish with that headshot. I've never seen that so emphasized in a flick before. Secondly, they looked so real in the physics of it, ie, the way the heads jerk back when he gets that headshot. The most realistic looking shooting scenes in that sense. I don't know how they did that, but it was cool.

First time director. 20 years as a stunt-coordinator.

The Equalizer is a "B" generic movie. Only reason it's compared to John Wick is release date. Stop it.
