JeneI didn't see much hope for Vilma to return to a LB 1 this year but was surprised to see Aaron Rudnicki on 2/21 had Vilma ranked 8th and Sigmund had him at 11th on 3/25 in the dynasty rankings.I understand dynasy means long term but I still don't see it anytime soon.I was offered Vilma or Brooking in a trade and want to find a reason for hope for Vilma but realy can't.
I think everyone is right in the right context. The final evaluation depends heavily on the situation your team is in currently. Deep rosters, solid starters, time to wait? Vilma is one of the most talented backers in the league. This time last year, it seemed very unlikely that DJ Williams could find his way into an advantageous position. Suddenly Larry Coker and Al Wilson are gone and Williams could find his way back into the top fifteen. Vilma is talented enough to get 80 solos with some big plays from a questionable spot. The Shawne Merriman of weak side ILBs in a 3-4 so to speak. Back in a role that's good in the boxscore, he's probably a lock to get back into LB1 territory.Shallow rosters, weaker starters, few starting positions, playing for an 07 title? Vilma would be a much harder player to find room for if he's not already on your roster.Talent reigns in a long-term dynasty outlook, which is what I'd guess Aaron and Sig are basing their rankings on.
