Jordy Nelson ultimate buy low? (1 Viewer)

I think/hope he breaks out this week. Their schedule has finally opened up and despite a game with Houston in a couple weeks, remains favorable.

I hope so, I own him in about every league. It's not like he hasn't had chances. There was a glorious deep ball along the sideline versus the Bears that Rodgers slightly over threw, which virtually never happened last year. Add another 50 yards and a TD and his stat line looks a lot better.

What I do not like is that Jennings was heavily featured in the Seahawks game plan, playing in the slot getting better match-ups. I thought they would shift around and include Nelson a little more, but maybe they will against other teams.

All of the packers players are good buy lows. They just played three of the best defenses in the league. Hard to shake of the cobwebs and get everyone on the same page when your up against those teams. With NO up this week, I think you'll see a huge difference in offensive output.

But specifically to Jordy, he needs Jennings in there to draw the coverage. Sooner he's back at full health, the better for Nelson.

2 of the 3 best games in Jordy Nelson's 2011 season came when Jennings was out of the lineup. Nelson had 5 of his 15 TD's in the 3 games Jennings missed. What Jordy really needs is for DB's and defensive coordinators to magically forget about the 7 or so bombs he hit on for TD's last year. Defenses just aren't going to allow him to beat them over the top like they did last year.

Nice stat. (3 of the 5 came in that week 16 shootout with Detroit) But doesn't the fact that you say defenses are more keyed in on him this year make it more important for there to be another deep threat on the other side? I think we all knew going into the year that he wasn't going to put up 15 TD's again, But I'm definitely not ready to say that this is the Jordy Nelson we're going to see for the rest of the year... regardless of these DB and DC's memory's.

Has anyone actually seen him being sold low? People have this idea that someone is a buy low when he hasn't been performing well, but usually the owner is thinking the same thing potential buyers are.

Exactly, which is why selling players that are struggling and might continue to struggle for players who are already putting up solid numbers is actually possible these days. Everyone has that "buy low" and " sell high mentality" and you can really take advantage of it early in the season.

:goodposting: in my experience, people are much more likely to hold on to an earlier round pick for too long (to not admit they make a mistake) vs dump him too early.

I just traded him in a 10 team PPR dynasty. My team is really bad (currently the 2nd worst team), and I'm trying to re-build, but this league is very difficult to trade in. The team that is currently the worst team in the league offered me his 1st for Nelson straight up. If things stay as they are now, his would be the 1.1. I think that I'll end up with the 1.1 on my own, but his pick probably won't get lower than the 1.3 or 1.4.I don't think I sold him low, but my team is RB deficient, so his pick will likely be able to land a good RB prospect or top WR prospect. Nelson is good, and I didn't plan to trade him, but that really was an offer I couldn't refuse.

yes,love is blind(example;chris johnson)

He just doesn't get enough targets. 94 last season, on pace for 100 this. Typically at a 65% catch rate so figure 65 catches off that. Before last season and for the 3 games of this, hes been around a 13 ypc guy. Puts him at around 850 yards. He will have to greatly increase his targets cause last year isn't happening again.

You got torched. Jordy is worth more than a 1, 10 team league anything can happen

Whatever. After the season, we'll see, but I really doubt he'll be getting a top three or four pick in return. Since I'm rebuilding, trading him now also benefits by solidifying my odds of getting the 1.01.

I disagree. The first six picks in my dynasty league this year were Richardson, RG3, Doug Martin, Blackmon, David Wilson, and Luck. I would take most of those guy over Jordy, Maybe all of them (I'd really have to think about Blackmon and Wilson).

i tried to trade schaub for him this week and got shot down. not every owner panics. unfortunately.
In all fairness you'd have to be beyond panicked to trade Jordy for the 19th best QB right now on a run first team unless you were in a 20-teamer of course.

Sell him for anything you can get. He won't crack 800/5 this year.
I targeted jordy early last year in trade so like the guy. And drafted him this year. Obviously early returns are subpar, but writing off the Hawks game which was a mess for the packers across the board, I'm expecting the rest of the season to look more like weeks 1 & 2: 5-6 for 70-80 with some TDs sprinkled in. I think he ends up around 80/1000 no problem. The big question is of course TDs. I don't think anyone thought he'd score 15 again or approach his ypc but he's putting up ok ppr wr2 numbers (10-11 the first two weeks) and for those of us playing him as a flex he's going to be great.

droppable in most formats. Too many other guys who catch the ball. Lot of sets being run with Cobb/Jennings/Jones
 yes, gonna grab Laurent Robinson instead.it's too subtle to be good sarcasm; but it's sarcasm
