Jose Bautista (1 Viewer)

The only thing I keep coming back to is that run he went on in September 2009. Most juicers used over the offseason, reported to spring training, and started mashing. Whether they had a bigger body or not, whatever they were taking, it took place over a long period of time and was a gradual thing.Bonds hit a career high in HR the year BEFORE he hit 73 HR, so you could kind of see the process taking shape over a period of months if not years.Bautista had 227 AB through August 31, 2009. He had hit a total of 3 HR. In the month of August, he had 54 AB and didn't hit a single HR. Then in his final 109 AB, he hit 10 HR. That's WAY too sudden of a change to be a result of roids, unless he found some super-duper mega juice that instantly turns your muscles into dynamite sticks.Or am I just trying to convince myself he's clean?
It reminds me of Brady Anderson over a little bit longer period of time.

You know, I was skeptical about the guy like many of you, until I heard Scott Van Pelt interview him last week.

Maybe I'm being naive, but I believe the guy is clean.

With some dudes, it's obvious when they are evading a question or flat-out lying. It seems like he's telling the truth.

Brady hit 4 HR in September 1995, the year before he hit 50. He hit 11 in April 1996, which suggests the change occurred over that offseason. Bautista went from 0 HR one month to 10 the next month, and then carried that over to 2010. Bautista's change was literally overnight. Not sure where the similarities are between the two.

I've argued the same thing. I think he's clean I can't fault the skeptics - it's the age we live in. Many other players have become sluggers 'overnight' and later found to be juicing. I really think his eye at the plate has been his best asset.

It was a good run..but it looks like Bautista is coming back to earth. HGH is wearing off.

Jose just hit what is, without a doubt, the longest HR I've seen to left field at the new Yankee Stadium.

The effing ball had a stewardess on it. Wait til you see the highlight.

Pretty sure there was nobody in the outfield seats flashing signs to him.
