I like it only because it shows that David Glass is continuing to show he will spend money to get better. The money does not matter to me. If we overpaid him, big deal. I would rather overpay to get a guy than having my team's brass sit on their hands watching other teams get better.
If Guillen does not pan out, yeah it was a bad investment, but you don't hear people complain about signings like Carl Pavano or Jason Marquis, etc. -- mistake signings by teams with supposed more room for error.
Now, I hope they go after Silva or Andruw Jones and keep the talent acquisition going. Adding to a good young core of Teahan, Butler, Gordon, Greinke, Bannister, etc.
The Royals just got BETTER, so I don't see why anyone would have a problem with the signing.
