Josh Cribbs? (1 Viewer)

Unless I was in league that handsomely rewarded return yards, it would have to be a pretty deep league.

I'm bumping this thread cause my league rewards return yards (20 yards per pt) and receiving yards (10 yards per pt). 0.5ppr

I know Cribbs has caught a decent amount of passes in the pre-season if he goes for 2000 return yards and a meager 400 receiving yards he would be a top15 WR in my league.

Any thoughts or info?

In a similar league (except we do 1 PPR, and reward for long plays) Cribbs was WR29 last year. I think he might be a poor man's Harvin, a guy that does a lot of different things, and gets the ball in a lo of different ways. I think he could do a lot more than 400 yards, too.

When I saw they were trying him out at safety, I cut bait. CLE seems so intent to make him the biggest jack-of-all-trades in the league...as a result, he will excel at nothing. He might not catch 45 balls this year...you really need more than that as a WR on your fantasy team to go along with his rushing and return yards.

Actually, you don't.

If he caught 45 balls for 450 yards he would be a stud in my league. Not including any rushing yards he may get out of the wildcat.I didn't hear about the Browns having him linup at Safety though.

Mine has .5 PPR for WR and only 1/35 return yards. Cribbs was WR 26. And since we start 4 WR and a flex who is normally a 5th WR, that made him a slightly above average starting WR. Yet I got him in the 16th round as about the 50th WR drafted and as my WR5. I'd have taken him earlier but I forgot for a bit that we use return yards in that league. I think he's going to turn out to be a great value. Just need to hope Cleveland gives up a lot of scores this year so he gets kickoff returns.

What he said. My league only gives 1/35 return yards... but Cribbs had 2000 of them last year. That's the fantasy points equivalent of another 570 yards receiving. So if he's pulling in 500 yards receiving, his return yards effectively make him a 1000 yard receiver. And again, that's with 1/35 return yards which I know is more conservative than a lot of leagues.I also heard about them giving him some looks at safety before I drafted him. Since we have IDP and all players get points for anything they do including tackles, if he gets some tackles and still plays as much on O and in the return game, all the better.
