Josh Freeman (1 Viewer)

Josh Freeman, after 2 weeks, is the 7th leading point scorer among QBs in my league right now (6 pts per td pass). His attempts haven't been very high (28 and 24), but he has made the most of them with 2 Td strikes in each of his first two games.

Next week he plays vs Pitt, so he may struggle, but so far so good.

Anyone adding him to your roster for bye week fill in or who drafted Kolb, Favre, Eli, Flacco, Stafford....you get the picture.

I've got him as a backup in all my leagues. TB is an offense on the rise.

Mike Williams

Kellen Winslow

...oh yes. Arrelious Benn for the future? After they snag a RB next year, watch out.

In Dynasty Freeman is a must-buy. Otherwise you'll regret it.

I have the Eli/Ryan QBBC but I grabbed Freeman as a QB3 since Eli and Ryan share a bye week. Now Im thinking about packaging one of those guys in a trade and using Freeman in the QBBC. I'm starting to believe.

yep. I said Sunday that I was benching Favre on my dynasty team and considering Freeman my number one going forward, baring VJ joining the vikes

I don't love Freeman, but I have taken a bit of a shine to him since last year. I'm certainly not opposed to having him on my roster, and I will likely be throwing out some feelers soon in a couple of dynasties where I missed on drafting him, particularly one in which I'm very long in the tooth at QB. I'm patiently waiting for what will probably be his most horrid game of the year vs. Pittsburgh this week with this in mind. If he somehow manages to light up Pittsburgh....well, then I guess I'll likely never be prying him away from his owner anyway.

As was mentioned above, it's not like he has been chucking the ball 50 times a contest, but he's finding ways to make the most of the attempts he's getting so far. He still needs to work on some things, but the potential is there. In general, his YPA has been creeping up since about his 3rd or 4th start last season, IIRC. I know he had a couple 'abortion'-type games in that regard last year too, but the handful of times I've got to watch him it appears he looks downfield first, then starts looking backwards. If he keeps doing that and gets the completion % a little higher it should mean pretty good things for him.

12 team redraft, start 1 QB, and I am stupidly carrying 3 QBs right now (Rodgers, Orton, Freeman). I grabbed Freeman off our free agent pool (we use blind bidding only) after week 1 (owner had dropped him to get Derek Anderson prior to week 1 for some reason). Sorry for my life story, but in any event, I think he's a solid grab & stash guy, and could be a piece of a multi-player trade if you're so inclined (which I am).

I like his talent and believe TB's offense is on the rise. However, I'm a little hesitant in redraft due to next 4 weeks w/ PIT, Bye, CIN and NO to conserve roster space. I gotta believe his redraft price is at an all-time high right now. But if he continues to impress through that 4-week gauntlet, then his price will probably be more reasonable (if not still on WW) and could be a tasty FF playoff QB w/ SEA and DET at the end of the year.

I drafted Freeman last year in a new dynasty league. I agree with Eminence, that TB is an offense on the rise. The kid has shown maturity quicker than anticipated and seems to be minimizing his mistakes. I like what I'm seeing so far from him, and I hope he continues to improve from an NFL and fantasy perspective.

I had him in and for some reason dropped him for Garrard in my 2QB league. Now I am hoping for a win from the Saints defense. Honestly I don't know what I was thinking. I've like the kid since he came into the league and is playing the best ball of all the 2009 QB class (though you can't blame Stafford for that). I'd put him above guys like Henne, Garrard, Cassel, etc.

I was really impressed by Freeman. The play where he eluded the rush and threw long on the run to Winslow was nice. That said he gets Pittsburgh this week.

Drafted him to backup Peyton for one week. At home vs Rams week 7
:blackdot: Same fantasy situation and I'm going to that game. The Bucs also have a nice playoff schedule if Peyton is sitting late in the season.Freeman has looked pretty good, with a broken thumb, and the Bucs haven't really had to throw the ball much yet. He only completed 50% of his passes yesterday, but many of those were balls thrown out of bounds when nobody was open. Add in the threat of him running a bit (77 yards through two games), and Freeman should make a nice bye week filler/QB2.

Me too. And this is the week... is he a play? Or is a better option off the wire worth more for this week only?
I'm still starting him, but my team is 1-5 so I could really care less. Kellen Winslow looked like his knee was bothering him Sunday, and the Rams haven't been as awful on defense as I expected them to be. If Winslow is out Freeman's options become pretty limited. I like Matt Cassell against Jacksonville if he's available.

Grabbed him last week as my bye filler for Peyton. Although now I see Hasselbeck on our ww so I'm wavering a bit. Hass is probably more of a boom or bust guy at this point. Freemen probably has less risk.
