Did I click on the wrong thread?OK just finished reading and I think I know enough to have an expert opinion. This whole thing is made up. Smh.
This explains the change in the message coming from the Browns last month.Teams are made aware of failed tests the second they happen.
As is the league.
So, as to why he still hasn't had the league boot his ### for yet another year, is anyone's guess
Or better, why he hasn't been cut
It sure is tellingThis explains the change in the message coming from the Browns last month.
this came up with Blackmon. Pretty sure currently suspended NFL players aren't allowed in the CFL.Time to rename this thread "Josh Gordon in CFL"
Excellent point. Time to put Coleman on my "do not draft" list...I knew I should have cut bait the second CurseFly started pimping him. He powers have no match.
Which is so stupid. Let the man make a living. Even if he has to be in exile in Canada.this came up with Blackmon. Pretty sure currently suspended NFL players aren't allowed in the CFL.
Destroying the economy and ruining lives isn't exactly the same as smoking a doobie or have a few drinks on a plane with teammates. Cmon now.Um, of course it does. How would it not? You know, there were these slimy bankers who did some really shady things a few years back and the US economy really suffered from it. Most, rightfully so, lost their jobs because of it. Let say they got hired back and did the same crap again - you're telling me that wouldn't make the banks look bad?
Good call, that was March 6th.He fails a test in March, does this timeframe match the MMA fight that Gordon and his best buddy Manziel attended? The NFL probably tested him the morning after that fight. Thanks Johnny!
He was 3rd - 4th roundish? Just sillyI took this clown in a MFL10. I want my $10 back. Maybe I'll have Johnny Idiotface sign something for me.
Not really, unless he was drinking jugs of water and peed once or twice right before taking the test.Don't want to start another conspiracy theory, but apparently both samples were diluted. Can't this be explained by him being overly hydrated? Like working out all the time and drinking jugs of water hydrated?
I think he hired Onterio Smith as a consultant. He just put the wrong sample in the whizzinatorNot really, unless he was drinking jugs of water and peed once or twice right before taking the test.
That and when they test you I would imagine they notify you and then you have to report. I don;t think they show up with a cup and say "pee right this second", in which case, if he drank jugs of water right before the test that would be dilute and an automatic fail. He is probably dumb enough to do that.
There was marijuana in the samples.Don't want to start another conspiracy theory, but apparently both samples were diluted. Can't this be explained by him being overly hydrated? Like working out all the time and drinking jugs of water hydrated?
'Sample being diluted' is a very general way of saying 'this person tried to beat the test.'Don't want to start another conspiracy theory, but apparently both samples were diluted. Can't this be explained by him being overly hydrated? Like working out all the time and drinking jugs of water hydrated?
Below the threshold. Not trying to stick up for the guy. Just trying to piece together what's going on behind the scenes. Perhaps that's why this is more a leak than a report from a guy like schefty. Sounds like the league is trying to get all their ducks in a row before dropping the hammer. This might be another protracted legal battle. There was marijuana in the samples.
No excuse is going to work.
Diluted, which is a fail, and weed in the sample.Below the threshold. Not trying to stick up for the guy. Just trying to piece together what's going on behind the scenes. He is indefinitely suspended; the drug policy says the commish has the sole authority to decide if he gets another chance. Even if he can make a compelling argument that he inhaled second-hand smoke (againBelow the threshold. Not trying to stick up for the guy.   ), and accidentally drank gallons of water right before his test, Goodell doesn't have to let him play again. Commitment to sobriety, where is that in the CBA?
Pass your drug tests that should be enough.
I know the Patriots' cheating scandals were true. This obviously doesn't sound good for Gordon but based on the NFL's track record of leaking information that wasn't exactly 100% accurate (Saints bounty, the air pressure of the Patriots footballs, etc) I'll wait until the story is vetted a bit before jumping to rash conclusions.
It's a good pt. While unlikely, it's possible this another NFL eff up. I took a flyer on Gordon last year so no worries on my end if he never plays again - but I hope things work out for him. This obviously doesn't sound good for Gordon but based on the NFL's track record of leaking information that wasn't exactly 100% accurate (Saints bounty, the air pressure of the Patriots footballs, etc) I'll wait until the story is vetted a bit before jumping to rash conclusions.
With that said, hanging out with Manziel at a fight in Vegas is one thing but partying at clubs and living together seems incredibly stupid by Gordon with a career opportunity hanging in the balance.
This is more about stupidity at this point than it is about weed. He applied for reinstatement about 70 days ago. He smoked weed a month ago. Just a flaming moron. Let someone take his place that actually cares about the game.Weed....the gateway drug to NFL suspensions
i agree 100 %This is more about stupidity at this point than it is about weed. He applied for reinstatement about 70 days ago. He smoked weed a month ago. Just a flaming moron. Let someone take his place that actually cares about the game.
Don't know how it could be. But I guess I'm just a little bit smarter than Josh Gordon. If I had a chance to be a superstar and live that kind of lifestyle and be set for life just for catching a football, I don't care if the league told me I couldn't eat hamburger, or drink coffee. As stupid as I might think it is, I would have the willpower not to do it if I knew it was going to cost me my chance. I have zero sympathy for Gordon. Just an idiot.i agree 100 %
is weed that important?
You're missing the point. He broke the rules of his employment, repeatedly. He did so again (or at least the new of him doing so) between the time of my post that you replied to and you actually replying to it. No matter if the rule was smoking week, drinking, or doing something far more nefarious. It looks bad on the company (in this case the NFL) if you continuously bring an employee back time after time who continues to break the same rules and doesn't learn.Destroying the economy and ruining lives isn't exactly the same as smoking a doobie or have a few drinks on a plane with teammates. A friend of mine made an interesting comment along those lines last night when we were talking about this.Don't know how it could be. But I guess I'm just a little bit smarter than Josh Gordon. You seem to have an issue with the rule itself - and that's a different topic altogether (and you and I agree on that point). Just because you and I, and he disagrees with the rule, or the enforcement thereof, doesn't mean he doesn't have to follow that rule.
