Josh McCown (1 Viewer)

Grrrr, some doofus in my league drafted Culpepper and McCown, then cut McCown before the season started. I was gonna pick him up.

Too bad for him. He finally got his shot, didn't play all that terribly, and now this.

Fate is a fickle mistress. Now if CPep blows a tire, it's JRuss time!

NFL Network reports that Raiders QB Josh McCown has a fractured index finger on his throwing hand and is expected to be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks. Daunte Culpepper is expected to take McCown's place in the Raiders' starting lineup. Earlier this week, Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said that McCown was going to be his starter at Denver, but that was before this news came out.

No way they risk the franchise on a QB who hasn't even seen the playbook yet. (At least, that's what I'd say about any other franchise in the NFL......not so sure about the Raiders.....)

Who else is on the roster if neither McCown or CPep can go?

why wouldn't Culpepper be able to go?

Schefter reporting it. Could be cpepp time.
Fark. I knew I should have waited before upping the bid on him. Now I'm gonna be stuck with another liability on my roster.ETA: I should add, in this dynasty roster, I have JaMarcus, Huard and Croyle. So starting McCown while he's hurt might actually be the shark move.

Don't they still have Walter?

I was just throwing out a hypothetical. I guess my urban slang of CPep "blowing a tire" for another knee injury was too ghetto. My bad.

I saw him get hurt on last play of game. Noone really made a big deal of it, but he was obviously in pain. I can't believe this is the first time we are hearing this. He looked good too, and that is a shame. He def. was holding his hand at end of game.

McCown is only expected to miss 2 weeks. If Culpepper goes down in that time then they'd limp through a game with Walter, then revert to McCown the following week.

What risk? They just lost to the Lions by 15 points at home. What were they gonna do this year?

You are street Andy :gang2:

Impact on Curry/Porter?
Well, considering that Porter only gained 20 yards for the horrible Lions secondary, I don't think it could get any worse for the guy.As far as Culpepper goes.......really kind of sucks for him. He doesn't get to play again the soft Lions secondary and McCown gets a solid statistical game out of it, which so would any Qb in the league. Now he's going to go up against one of the top passing defenses in the league. People will compare the two and it will really be like comparing apples to oranges.

We discussed this already on a number of threads so far this week, but it was all speculation until we had more information.

Curry. :rolleyes:Well, maybe not, but he has a canon. Saw him roll to the left and throw a bomb almost 70 yards while on the run. (throws right) He was a high school and college qb. Serious answer though as long as they keep him would be Walter.

Is there any truth to the thought that Curry was McCown's go to guy, and Porter is Culpepper's?
Possibly.Porter is much more of a deep threat. And let's not forget what he did to Champ Bailey the last time he played in Denver.McClown was scared to throw it down field this week b/c he has a weak arm. He was doing nothing but dink and dunk all game. Daunte (good or bad) will be slinging it a lot more.
