(October 31, 2007) — ORCHARD PARK – Trent Edwards’ sprained right wrist was still swollen today, and sore enough to where he could not grip a football, or even shake someone’s hand.
Thus, with J.P. Losman slated to start against Cincinnati on Sunday, third-stringer Gibran Hamdan may have to dress as the backup.
“His wrist is very sore today, so we’ll see where it is tomorrow,” said coach **** Jauron. “It goes day to day in that regard. In terms of where it is on Sunday, able to be our No. 2, we just don’t know yet. If he can, good, and if he can’t, that’s what Gibran is here for.’’
Edwards confirmed that he got hurt when he was sacked by New York linebacker David Harris and he fell on the wrist.
“I’m doing better today, but there’s some pretty bad swelling in there and it’s limiting my range of motion and the strength in my hand,” Edwards said. “It’s disappointing, but that’s the way the season goes, guys get hurt and other guys have to step up and play.’’
