Judge rules against Williams Wall...NFL may suspend... (1 Viewer)

Did they bring in anyone to back the two up or am I remembering the rumors about Haynesworth to the Vikes?

Vikings homers will know more. But I know they have Jimmy Kennedy and he has played some as Pat Williams has been coming out some on later downs...is that correct homers? But I don't think they brought in anyone new.

Bad things keep happening to the Saints this year, as this will filter down to their guys who have the same case (names escape me).

Didn't those guys just accept their punishment and already serve it?
I don't believe Will Smith ever served a suspension yet.
Correct. Will Smith and Charles Grant(no longer a saint though) are looking at a four games for Star Caps.

PFT was saying a league source indicated that the players for both teams could serve the suspensions consecutively, but that was back in September and we all know how ofter PFT is right  . [Link]

It's not over yet and the restraining order against suspending them could be reinstated while the Williams' go through the appeals process. We'll learn sometime this week if it will happen or not.As of right now the Vikings have six DT's on the roster: Kevin Williams, Pat Williams, Fred Evans, Jimmy Kennedy, Letroy Guion and Tremaine Johnson. There was also a rumor that Griffen could see time in K-Will's spot but that's doubtful. Either way I'm not worried. The Vikes have the best D-line coach in the NFL in Carl Dunbar and he will have players ready to go.Haynesworth will never be an option. The Vikings have stated over and over through the process that he is not an option and we do not want him.

Pat Williams, at 37, is just playing a waiting game. If he can delay another season what really will be the consequence to him. I don't realy think anybody sees him going beyond this year anyhow.

The vikes have had a charmed life lately in regards to NFL discipline. They tamper with Favre and the league says, well, without Favre admitting they did so they don't really have evidence. As if Favre, who wanted to go there and who participated in the Tampering, is going to say that they did and he should really not be allowed to go there. Then this. local Judges sympathetic to the cause seem only too happy to take their sweet time. When Pat Williams is retired for three years and Kevin Williams is starting to decline around age 32 they will get around to saying, "sure, go ahead, discipline them".

Sorry...but if you don't want to be worried because its just 4 games that is one thing...but to not be worried because you think your Dline coach is the best....you have to have the horses to run with...and without the Williams boys, I don't think they have the hourses up the middle.

Run game has been sliding a bit. Consecutive game suspensions is the best to hope for at this point.

I agree to an extent. Guys like Kennedy, Guion, and Johnson have never been able to handle a full load and to rely on them here could prove to be a very costly mistake. That being said they have had some of the best tape of their careers playing in limited snap situations here. So, the idea would be to rotate them at Pat's spot and then rotate Griffen and Robison at Kev's spot.

Say what you will about Dunbar and my confidence in him, but he has an amazing ability to get the best out of his players, not to mention a great eye for talent.

My hope is for a healthy E.J. Henderson. That's what's missing more then anything.

Hennepin County Judge Gary Larson ruled Thursday they can be forced to serve four-game suspensions even though their employer, the NFL, violated their rights under state labor laws.

Still, Larson is considering a request from the players that he allow them to continue playing while they appeal. That ruling is expected in a couple of weeks.

The state Court of Appeals will take up the case next.

I have a feeling this case will be held up in the courts for most of the season.
