Just curious... (1 Viewer)

I usually stick to the mantra of "Always start your studs" but I was feeling desperate for a win this past weekend and decided that if there was ever a time to not start MJD, it was this weekend. I decided to plug in Lynch with a very good matchup against Cleveland. I had been checking twitter (schefter, glazner), and all the site between 11 and 1 for any injury updates on my starting players and saw nothing on Lynch. I was out with my wife eating lunch at the time so I felt like everything is good to go. I get home, start watching NFL Red Zone and notice on the Fox Sports ticker "Lynch out of game with bad back". After much cursing, I looked at footballguys.com, didn't see any breaking news on this until about half hour after kick off. How the hell is something like this in the era of social media sites and twitter is this not reported before kickoff!?!

Miraculously I am still up 9 pts with my opponent having Bill Cundiff to go tonight but I do not feel optimistic just because of being snake bitten yesterday with Lynch. Very frustrating. Who else started Lynch and got boned?

I noticed that Forsett got the first couple of carries so I started searching. I finally found an entry on Rotoworld stating he was out - timestamp 1:10PM. That was the first thing I saw.

I saw him sitting on the sidelines with a towel over his head. Thought it was weird since the game didn't even start yet.

The next shot was Leon Washington receiving the kickoff.

From what the announcers said, he was Injured in pregame workout and nobody knew it until a minute or so before kickoff.

He is going to cost me my game as well. I thought I saw in the Lynch thread that even one of the Seattle beat writers had said he saw Lynch on the field in uniform getting ready to play. But it turns out that guy was completely wrong.

This is just one of those "things" that happen, but it sucks...

this killed me..... add in my starting WRs are Miles and V Jax plus I started McCoy over Shaub..... tough week.

I saw Adam Schefter's twitter and FBG's twitter come through about 1:20pm..... never saw any report come through prior to kick off.

Replaced LeSean McCoy with Lynch (over Shonn Greene).

Santana Moss injury didn't help either.

Lost by 1.8 points.

I think the announcement from Seattle came 5 minutes after KO.

NFL teams are required to notify the league of their inactive list 15 minutes prior to each game but Lynch was injured after they notified the league. They are not required to disclose anything after that. The only way this story would have gotten out is if someone at the game broke it. Tough break but you can't fault anyone on this one...

I had Lynch in my lineup originally, but late in the week changed my mind and swapped him out...

... for Earnest Graham. :kicksrock:

I had the perfecta of Lynch and Torian, my opponent had Murray and Forte; I lost by just under 111 points :bag: .
Great post. I love the "just under 111 points." So specific, yet avoids being specific enough to say 110 or 109. Way to keep your sense of humor after a rough week.

At what time was this? Lynch was in uniform the whole game. First I heard of it was when they were lining up for the kickoff and they were talking about him being a surprise late scratch. He was on the bench, in uni, with a towel over his head. No reason he'd be out there for the kickoff, so I doubt that anyone outside of the team knew until basically :30 before kickoff.

I saw a report (post kick-off) that he injured his back during pre-game warm-ups and couldn’t answer the bell for kick-off.

Sounds like it may have been a muscle spasm type injury (don’t know for sure)… maybe he though there was a chance he could go and didn’t inform the team until it was too late.

Freak injury… but it happens from time to time.

I guess I can just chalk this up to bad freaking luck. I rescind my challenge of social media sites and FBG.com. You can all go home and :banned:

:lmao: Guessing you arent posting in the "what do you need on Monday night" thread.
I actually made a mistake, it was just under 112 points. Between Lynch, Torain, D. Baldwin, and E. Decker I got 3.6 points; how is that for a performance? I don't even have anyone going on Monday night :bag: :bag: .

Started Lynch over D. Murray because I was afraid Choice would steal some carries. Needless to say I lost this week. No warning for Lynch being out what can you do

Started Lynch over Felix Jones (ankle), Peyton Hillis (Hamstring), Jahvid Best (head), and Stevan Ridley (bye). Could have started any of the others and gotten the same result.
