It's over? I'm not sure it ever started. When he came up, I thought that one day they'd move him to the bullpen and he'd be a great relief pitcher. I guess that didn't happen.Darren Oliver. Nice year last year, should have been his swan song. It's over buddy.
He's a left handed pitcher and he's guaranteed to make $1.75M this season. He'd be nuts to hang it up now. It's over? I'm not sure it ever started. I'm hoping the Angels retire him by the end of April.Veteran lefties can always find work though. Ugh.He's a left handed pitcher and he's guaranteed to make $1.75M this season. There is something about back-up catchers and left-handed relievers that keep them hanging around forever.I bet Chad Kreuter and Charlie Moore are still banging around some AAA team. Is Terry Mulholland on an Opening Day roster?Sandy Alomar Jr. accepted an assignment to Mets AAA affiliate New Orleans yesterday. Alomar will be 41 in June and hasn't had a season with 400 PAs since 1998. His little brother will be eligible for the Hall of Fame in a couple of years.

Julio is old but doesn't deserve to be on this list. The guy does a very good job in the role he has for the Mets.Julio Franco is going to be 49 in August.
Yes he does a good job with the younger players but he's the Mets backup 1B who will be 49 this year.Julio is old but doesn't deserve to be on this list. The guy does a very good job in the role he has for the Mets.Julio Franco is going to be 49 in August.
Roger Clemons is at the top of my list. Either pitch or retire Roger. Don't treat baseball as a part time job with full time pay.
This guy pours his guts out for the Astros for 19 seasons, is 70 hits short of 3000, and is basically making a farewell tour in his 20th season with the team. However, I do think the Astros are going about it the wrong way. He should be splitting time with Burke at 2nd, and Pence should be starting in the OF.Craig Biggio is #1 on this list in my mind. He is totally hampering the progress of a franchise by holding on. Nice road totals last year, Craig. OUTSTANDING second half.
52, but we're here to bash the old guys... remember?Didn't Luis Gonzalez hit 50 doubles last year?
I want to see him play at 50 years old. Funny thing, he can STILL hit, and from what I recall, he uses one of the games heaviest bats. I think being as effective as he is at his age is remarkable.Yes he does a good job with the younger players but he's the Mets backup 1B who will be 49 this year.Julio is old but doesn't deserve to be on this list. My bad. I'll get in the spirit...Moises Alou is old!52, but we're here to bash the old guys... remember?Didn't Luis Gonzalez hit 50 doubles last year?
You do realize that he hit .335 in 2005 and .301 in 2006, yes?Honus said:Kenny Lofton - I know he's going for some kind of record for most teams played for, but enough is enough.
Royce Clayton: consistently bad over the years but has managed to rack up over 1850 hits in his career. He's never had a positive OPS+ season and has slipped both offensively and defensively. After seeing how a career minor leaguer like Dan Uggla performed last year, you'd think MLB organizations would be willing to take a chance with a untested and cheap player rather than run a known commodity like Clayton out there.

My list starts with Barry Bonds. And please get it done sometime in next couple of weeks.
Maybe he's going for the outright record...Wikipedia list Franco as the oldest who plays regularly:Below is the List of oldest Major League Baseball (MLB) players, with their last season in parentheses.
